Allen L. Appell

Prof. Appell is very knowledgeable and extremely experienced about the business world. His lectures are interesting, because he gives personal examples in order to illustrate his points better. For his class, you will be graded on 2 exams, 1 case study, and 1 group project. The case study and the group project are fairly easy, and you should be able to get a very generous grade for those. His test, on the other hand, are somewhat difficult. Both consist of 70 multiple choice and 30 pts worth of essays, but if you average a C+ in both exams, you can still get a B+ for the class if you do good on the case study and the project. I strongly recommend that you take appell to get a good foundation on international marketing.

Professor Appell is the best of both worlds: academic acumen backed-up by real and diverse industry experience. He's a hidden gem of a professor in a program that's riddled with mediocre and sometimes down-right awful teachers. He has held director and VP level positions at MAJOR organizations. He *knows* what he is talking about.

As far as the specifics of the class goes: 2 multiple choice with essay exams; 1 case study write-up (short); Marketing plan/business plan project (large). He uses powerpoints, videos, streaming video (on his laptop), and a computer lab "game" that is a bit dated (runs on Windows 3.0) but valuable nonetheless.

Prof Appell has had (is still having) a diverse and interesting career, has traveled to literally ever place on the globe, and has made millions through hard work and savvy investing (he sometimes shares stock tips in class - extra bonus!). Inspiring guy. Nice to have a professor that knows what he is talking about - and has proven it by making millions and retiring to teach.

Dr. Appell is a great lecturer and definitely knows his stuff in international marketing. He also offers great stock and investing tips for your financial future. He brings in real world examples and events to illustrate and present his lecture topics.
