Professor Ashton taught this class because the original instructor was on medical leave for the semester. I'm horrible at any kind of math, so I'm pretty sure I did poorly. But he was a good teacher. The class consists of covering about one chapter a week, with a homework assignment and a quiz. The homework is worth 2 points, the quiz is worth 10. He has two or three exams throughout the semester which I definitely wasn't prepared for, but if you stay on top of the material you should do well. He offers to help students during office hours and after class. There is a project at the end of the year, but it isn't too difficult, since you get to work with a group. Overall, the subject matter can be pretty boring, but the class is a good one for those who are decent at math, but don't want something too intense.
