Exam didn't exist. He makes you write papers in which he tells you he wants something original and fresh but slams you for not following his format. Hand writting on board and papers is bad. Homework is simply to keep up on the reading, but he rarley follows up on it. He would often forgwet what the lecture was on and take a drastic side track but that didn't matter if you were in the back of the class because he nevers gets them involoved. He is only in his office hour during the hour and didn't make exceptions. He does have a command of the subject, but it is so sever that he refuses to look at new ideas. His speaking skills are fine if you are in the front two rows. But even that is bad when he starts pandering to them and the peoplein front are so out of it that they don't even notice. He creates little inside jokes that are exactly that. Inside jokes with himself only. I don't suggest this teacher to anyone. He managed to make Poe and Whitman boring.

The only real problem with this teacher is his grading policy. If you take this class, do not bother to follow his prompts, becasue he does not. If you write according to the prompt he assigned, you will probably receive a bad grade, as most of my class did. He is aware that he grades this way, admitted to me that it was his fault students did poorly on their papers, and refused to adjust either the grades or his policy. BE CAREFUL
