One good teacher

I graduated in 2001 and he is a great teacher in my point of view. It's not because he gave me an A in the class, but he is really a cool person if you talk to him more. Yes, I'm Chinese and I never had any problems with him or any other teachers(Yes, Dr Edwards too!). He's not always around in the class after lectures, but he had enough TA in the classroom to help other students..

Great Teacher

Dr. Cheng is a great teacher i would recommend other students to take his class. I taken dai 321 and 575 (TA in Cad). He is always involve with students and interact with them. I like to say this he is not a racist and he doesn't have anything against white people he treat every students fair.

Fair and Knowledgeable

That is completely absurd!

I used to be a TA for him and I am Caucasian. He is not biased as you said. Perhaps you received a grade you didn't like, but that's no reason to take your anger out on him and call him a racist.

Knowledgable instructor

Wow, he really must be a racist to have given you a B+!!! Let me go tell some Chinese people I know that Dr. Cheng was racist towards them also since many of them got B's and C's. Hmm... maybe you're just upset because you did a half ass job and expected a better than average grade.

A wisdom

I don't think he paid attention only on Asian students. Since there are few professors ignore the need from foreign students. As a DAI chairman, he is willing to put all his heart to solve your problem. You are surely to learn a lot from him.

This instructor has soom serious problems relating to students in a fair and unbiased manner. His grading policy is inconsistent and biased towards Asians, particularly Chinese students. Frankly, my impression is that he is a racist at heart. He avoids contact with non-Chinese students, and when a non-Chinese student does manage to get his attention, God forbid, he is short, rude, and not very helpful. I think it is a great mark upon the University that someone with his attitude about people could be placed in the position of department chair. One can not expect much at a State University, but one can expect more than this sort of behavior.
