Great teacher although time consuming. She really relates to the students and tries to connect with the class.

Yvonne Daley is, without a doubt, one of the best professors I have ever had. From the very first day she treats you like a professional, gives you the respect you deserve, and helps you become a better journalist. She is engaging, friendly, and a great person to talk to, whether it's journalism, the Red Sox, George W. Bush, or anything else.
Her class itself is very demanding, with several short articles (no more than 1,000 words) in the first few weeks. We were asked to do a five minute oral presentation on one of our readings, which I thought was not particularly interesting. From there, however, the pace picks up and it gets far more exciting. We were given the chance to work on a long feature-style magazine article, and this is the place where Yvonne truly shines. She is with you every step of the way, helping you organize, edit, and possibly publish your piece, if she feels it is worthy. I have told everyone I know in the Journalism department, and I will continue to tell them to take any class you can with Yvonne- she'll make you work, but you'll appreciate it in the future whenever you sit down to write.

Yvonne Daley is the best professor I've ever had. I never thought I would enjoy going to class, especially newsriting, but she has made the class so interesting and her feedback is so helpful. Yvonne wants her students to do well and altough the class isn't very easy, she makes it worthwile. However, in her newswriting class, she actually had us go out and find stories, much like reporting and while I was intimidated at first, she really helps prepare us for what's to come. Also, Yvonne is so readily available for questions. Think of her as your editor. Until I graduate, I will try my hardest to take classes with Yvonne.

Yvonne is an amazing person. I have learned more from her in the past three months than I have from any other teacher. She is knowledgeable, intelligent, a great communicator, up-to-date with current events and a sensitive and excellent writer. She has style as well. She is tough and her assignments are a lot of work, but she really teaches you journalism hands-on. Besides she is always willing to edit your drafts (I highly recommend to work with her via email. She is very responsive). She also gives you the opportunity to re-write your stories, so don't sweat the grade: If you keep trying, you will do well. She is out to give everyone a good grade and work with everyone until they get it. But she also offers challenges to those who are exceptionally talented writers. It is amazing how she goes out of her way to respond to questions, drafts, concerns, curriculum planning and the like - all outside of class. Ivonne's lectures are captivating and students are eager to participate. The class is a lot of work though because Ivonne really makes you go out and practice being a journalist. I have talked to several other students and they all love her! I highly recommend her as a teacher and mentor.
