Lorrie is great. Lucky for me when I took her that semester, she didn't have any or much migraines nor did she cancell classes. She has a great personality, and she makes the class so much more interesting to attend. She made it so it wasn't one of those classes I dread going to. She gives great feedback and she's very outgoing. Two thumbs up!

Okay, her being a married woman I shouldn't say that. But, she has a winning personality and you just gotta love her. I didn't want to be in this class in the first place, but I'm glad I picked Lorrie. Yes, she did miss quite a few classes especially during the last weeks of class, but I didn't care. Yes, I'm a lazy student, but I did my work for this class. I had a paper to write and only I can do that. The important thing I learned in this class that will stick in my mind forever are the "adjective" exercises. This solved the mystery all those years of B- to D grades I got in English. I've done well in subsequent classes because of Lorrie. I hope she gets herself checked for her headaches. That's not normal. Thanks.

Lorrie was the most helpful instructor I've had at SFSU thus far. I came into the class with what I confidently felt were excellect writing skills, but she helped me to improve my writing so much that I think I'm almost at the point of perfection. She was not absent much, contrary to what others wrote about her. Lorrie will always let you improve your papers and is genuinely happy to meet with you during office hours, and will always make time to do so. I reccomend Lorrie for any incoming freshmen.

This teacher is really cool. If you are a freshman , I highly recommend her. She lets you turn in thing late and is very layback on deadlines. She is nice and is really down to earth. Her assignments are easy. She also is a very good grader and is always ther to help you. Yeah , she is gone a lot but she lets you make up the work later.

I felt that Lorrie was a great teacher. True, she was absent a lot but that really isn't her fault. Her enthusiasm and her commitment to her students are undeniable. I was never comfortable or confident about my writing but after her class, it's all different now. We had about five papers, three pages to five pages each, with lots of articles provided by the teacher. We had lots of time to write and she always welcome her students to her office time to discuss papers. Overall, I felt I benefited immensely from her class.

Laurie was a teacher that was absent a lot, but she had such ethusiastic when she teaches. She motivated the class to write and taught us many new ways to write. Her assigments were fun to write about and provided us with a lot of information on the topic. The reason her grade was a b- instead of an A was because she was continuously absent and the worst part was our class was in the morning. She had times when she was out of class for the whole 3 days of class. But overall, she is a goog instructor.

Yup, this teacher was absent a lot! The thing that pissed me off is that some of us had to do our essays even after the last day of instruction cos' she was absent so much and it took her so long to read our drafts and return it back to us. She shouldn't be teaching with her migraines!

At first, I hated the class because I didn't want to be in it in the first place. Damn, that JEPET. However, Lorrie's enthusiam made the class more bearable. I thought the essay topics were interesting, except for the prostitution one. As a result of having taken the class, I can honestly say that my writing skills have improved immensely. I gave the instructor an A- grade because she did miss a lot of class. However, instead of being upset that she wasn't there all the time, I was more concerned for her health. I hope her migraines go away so she can continue teaching.
