Bio 380, Comparative Embryology, incorporates the very fundamentals of life across pyhla. Without waiting to say all life is connected through ancient common origens, Dr. Domingo started working into the class excellent high-level scientific papers addressing phylogeny, evolutionary genetics, molecular genetics & biochemistry, related verbal concepts, and a few great guest speakers, to try and herd this simple but difficult material into an understandable whole. Her effort was admirable, maybe even too ambitious, for who really understands molecular biology and deep evolution at a level that makes easy understanding feasible? Likely no one, but this didn't stop Dr. Domingo from trying. Interesting class, with a great layout/excecution by Dr. Domingo. It's a hard class, but one of the best State has to offer in terms of sheer molecular evolutionary theory.

Bio 351 was one of the most interesting and beneficial classes I have taken. Dr. Domingo's enthusiam is contagious. The class is very well organized and you know what is expected of you each day. There are short ten-minutes quizes and then formal lab write-ups for the labs. The write-ups were done in pairs, making it much more managable. The labs are very interesting and integrate alot of important techniques. Formal lab-write-ups were not done for each lab, rather, Dr. Domingo gave us problem sets for some labs. Overall, I really enjoyed both the class and the teaching style. I would reccommend taking this class with Dr. Domingo.

Dr. Domingo tried her best to make this class interesting, but it seemed we spent so much time studying the least interesting phyla and had so little time for mammals. The class could have been split into 2 couses. Dr. Domingo does not spoon-feed facts and expect them to be spit back word-for-word. You have to be able to understand and evaluate the facts. This is a conceptual class. Dr. Domingo uses alot of handouts - many are copied from the text (which wasn't worth the money spent on it).
