Mr Evans is a Hard Grader!!!! I''ve never had a teacher who gives a one page guideline and expects you to write a business plan. He wanted us to buy a book, which we never went over it in the classroom, and tells us to read all of it in order to write a int'l mktg plan..His exam was hard, half of the classroom got F's, because he wants you to read a lot of articles which he wont talk about them in the class than ask questions about them....... I really wouldnt like to take his class again but as an int'l bus major i might have too....

There are a lot of things I could complain about Dr. Evans. First of all, I and a some of my friends in the class are intimidated by him. Second, he is really unorganized. For example, we were going to read a book and discuss it. We only got through half of the book- and he didn't even test us on it. Another example of his disorganization was the reading assignment he gave to us. He assigned about 30 something articles to read for the final and we only covered half of them. It is an easy class. He is knowledgible but a little opinionated.

Prof. Evans is a pretty knowledgeable teacher about this subject. It's cool because he relates the class to current events in the news and it makes it more interesting to learn. There's only one small book you have to buy and read and it's fairly interesting. One word of advice, don't get the BusinessWeek magazine subscription because it's a waste of money since he doesn't refer to it directly and you can save yourself some money and just read it at the library if you really do need it. He has 3 papers that you have to write and it's not so bad once you get the hang of it. Overall, decent class, interesting, not that hard to pass.

Profesor:Prof. Evans showed interest in his subject, and created an environment that promoted learning. He has great knowlegde in the subject.
Lectures: boring most of the time, but if the class discusses a topic of your interest, it may be useful. Try to listen when papers are being presented by classmates, it may benefit you in the future.
Attendance: Very important, prof takes attendance every meeting, late people will only get half credit for attendance.
Grading:If you cover most of the materials and give it a good try, he will not give you below a B. He will give you a F if it looks plagerised. Participation is very important in order to get an A. For quiet people who sit behind other people like me: dont worry, he'll pass you if you at leat present the papers to class.

Prof. Evans' knowledge becomes apparent the first time you hear him speak. He's very smart, personable, and kind. It's true that his lectures can be boring, but give it a chance. You might actually pick up something valuable.
My most important suggestion is to show up to class EVERYDAY, because it counts for 25% of your grade. The break down of the grades are as follows:
Paper 1: 25% Paper 2: 25% Final: 25% Attendance/Participation: 25%
For our section, he ended up not giving a final exam. Instead, he had us write a short paper. Evans class is not difficult to pass. However, in order to get an A, you have to put some effort.

His class can be a little boring if you are paying attention! So just relax, daydream for about an hour and fifteen min., do the 3 papers (5-6 pages each), and do your 5 min. discussion on the pages that he assigns you, and you will be fine. Each paper is worth 25% and participation (attendance included) another 25%, so you better go to class. Overall, he's a nice guy that knows a lot about IBUS...
