Mr. Evans is a great teacher and he knows what he's talking about. He seems like a shy guy but his teaching method is nonetheless effective. He has a vast amount of knowledge about this subject and enjoys teaching it too. Evans is more than willing to answer questions and is available during office hours. There are three tests which consist of multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the blank, essay, diagram fill in, and in the second exam, slide identification. In other words, his tests are no joke. But he gives you the essay questions in advance and you can prepare them but you can't bring them with you to the test. You also have to write three essays in response to a question regarding the readings from "earth odysey," a very interesting book I might add. I find this class to be extremely interesting and it's my favorite class by far this semester!

Rob Evans is a great teacher. I've never gotten anything more out of a class than I did in his GEOG203 course. His lectures and homework assignments are very straightforward and simple, if you're good with logic. There's no reason to get a lower grade than an A in Mr. Evans' class since he teaches it so well. Highly recommended.

Rob has a lot of material to cover and works hard to make sure that he does. He is patient with questions and available outside class hours.

Rob is a great instructor. His lectures are very clear and he is more than happy to answer questions and to make sure everyone understands. The material is somewhat dry, but important to know. His expectations are clear and he is a fair grader.

This class and instructor are OK. The class is divided into 3 segments-- research/field techniques, statistics and cartography. The research portion of the class had very long, tedious lab assignments and a test based solely on memorization. There was also a research proposal due at the end of the semester. I felt like I spent a lot of time for very little during this segment. The other 2 segments were both educational and easier to manage timewise. The tests were challenging, but not difficult and the labs were kind of fun. There were 11 labs in all, 3 tests and one paper. The labs were 15pts each and the tests and paper were 40 pts each. There were no essay, T/F, mult. choice or matching questions on any tests. Overall the lectures were OK-- a little tedious at times, but Rob seems very nice and pretty fair. One thing to make special note of is test #2 takes like 1hr 15min or so, so if you have a M,W,F class you may have to make arrangements.

Rob Evans is one of the most boring teachers I have ever had.EVERYONE I have met in Geography 101, Our Physical Environment, finds him way too repetitive and boring to stay awake. His lectures are always the same--he sounds like a robot! Geography is an interesting subject, but Mr. Evans makes it really bland, and people are going to sleep every day of class. I approached him about one of the books assigned to us, and he did not even know an answer, which is not too great! He does not seem confident; I wish i could say something positive about him, but its really hard when you are being honest.

Rob is great because he is genuinely interested in the students. He couldn't spend more effort and time trying to explain things in a way that will be understood, and explaining exactly what is expected. He spells everything out in big bold letters, as opposed to some other GEOG instructors who skate around the concepts and leave you wondering what is really significant. Rob is very personable, entertaining, and speaks to students at their own level, instead of acting like Mr. Big Shot professor. There are lots of exercises, perhaps too much left to do during the last couple weeks of the semester -- but when all is said and done, the grading is fair and the knowledge gained is appropriate and useful.

Dr. Evans is very sweet, but a bit too nervous and bland to really hold my interest. He'd alternate between being somewhat patronizing and being apologetic. I wish he'd develop his confidence a little, because he is very nice, and the class is pretty interesting. He *is* very organized, which makes the lectures go smoothly, and I did appreciate how he injected a bit of environmental politics into his lectures.
