I took her last Fall of 2005 and I must say that she seems to be a nice girl, but at the same time she is a good actress as well. She would coach you to write an essay and when you do the way SHE wants she would reject it anyway or give you a bad grade ...unless you say that you worked with a tutor and that he/she had reviewed it before hand (even if it is not true). This fact changes everything. Clearly, you'd better be one of her favourite students and you'd better be an attractive male...:). Also, if you are not a native English speaker or have a strong accent you have little chances of passing the class, unless you dont participate in class discussions so she wouldnt hear your accent. Moreover, Sarah was flirting in a class with some students!! Her class was one of the hardest English classes for me and I dont recall having such problems before. She tries to refresh your memory by throwing in a few grammar rules and assignments. She was a fond of a book "A million little pieces" and she made us read it. You'd better share her ideas, at least for an essay. I hope she changed this book for something more usefull and interesting and wouldnt relay on Oprah's suggestions to read this book but something more academic and legitimate.

Sarah is a great teacher. She is the best Eng. teacher I've ever had. Not only does she explain the material thoroughly, but she loves to help students with any problems. If you want to learn & have fun you should take her. There are maybe 4-5 essays during the semester. She lets students have the option of seeing her before the essay is due and I think that's so nice of her.

My favorite teacher for that semester. And to think I wasn't going to like her, boy was I wrong! Sarah just seems to know how to draw inspiration from a normal lecture. Absolutely not lazy, but makes for a comfortable class setting, and she's kind and considerate. Just be ready to put out your best, and you won't regret this class. I miss it already!

Sarah is an EXCELLENT instructor! She is extremely generous and cares if her students are passing her class. She allows you to revise one essay to get a higher grade and will also drop the lowest essay grade in the term, which helps if you slack a little. She is understanding of the students needs and situations and will do whatever she can to help if you encounter problems. She is always willing to arrange office hours to suit you and meet with you privately to help you if you are struggling on anything in class. Attendance is not a big deal in her class as long as you understand the reading material and be able to write essays, you will easily pass with an 'A' or a 'B'. Her lectures are very engaging and don't sound like lectures because they are engaging, she treats her students as equals and talks about things that are interesting and relevant to what college students are interested in debating and listening to. The only thing that I didn't really like was the daily homework, however the homework greatly assists you when writing your essays, so its not all a waste. Otherwise cool teacher and everyone should jump at the option of taking her courses. Her class is fun and deserves this 'A'!!!!

This teacher is awesome! Not only was it an easy A but I learned a ton of things as well. She also schedules periodic conferences with you to meet with you about your work or grades. A very understanding and cool teacher.
