Makes it bearable

She's a good teacher. we do have homework, but the homework is very easy and doesnt take long to do. her essay topics are interesting as well. many times when i thought that i was going to get a C on one of her essays because i didnt put much effort into it, it came back with a better grade than i expected like a B and even an A (i rarely get A's in essays for english class). she puts us into groups frequently in class, almost every other class meeting. our homeworks are easy, sometimes she would only request a thesis statement as homework due. i would definately take this teacher over again if i needed to.

A teacher you can't afford to miss!

Professor Flippin is one of the few good English instructors out there. Her class is based on the reader she makes herself. Students are assigned to read two short stories every 2-3 weeks and write an essay about the inference he/she has for one of the stories. There are 5 take-home essays and that's it. Homework is assigned almost everyday, but they take you 15 mins to finish. She does a good job teaching the students how to write such as how to structure and develop the essay. My writing skill has improved a lot because of her. Oh she won't require you to write a 5 page essay although she says 3-5 page is required. I usually write a little less than 3 pages and, if I bring out the idea clearly, get around an B. Her teaching style is very casual. Small group activities is what she does most of the time. After a semester with her, I have no complain about anything. The only thing she might wanna improve on is to provide more guidance for how to pass the JEPET (but this is not a big deal). Overall, she is an excellent excellent teacher. Just to let you know how good the class is: Nobody in my class withdraws. Everyone stays thru the semester. Where do you see that in an university class?

Great Teacher!

I think Professor Flippin was really enjoyable. There is a ton of writing assignments, but that's to be expected with the class and they are so easy! She is extremely flexible and fair in her grading. She even allows re-writes. She's knowledgeable, helpful, open to student's opinions and she's got a great sense of humor. I'd recommend her in a second.

Ms. Flippin is a good teacher. She is funny and pays attention to her students. She grades fairly and will let you know what you need to improve on. The class are usually small so you get to know your classmates. This helps in getting individual attention when you need it. I would recommend her for anyone who failed the jepet test.

Ms. Flippin was so funny. The first day I saw her I thought that she was going to be mean, but she is great. I think the person that gave her a D- below must have not even tried on the papers because she will even go over the paper with you and will let you rewrite it to get a much better grade. She is so flexable and the homeworks are so simple. The HW ususally consists of writing a sentence or two. You do not even need to buy the workbook because she will let you make copies if you need to do an exercise. I acctually looked forward to going to the class every week because she it just a riot. If you want an easy A go for it take it with Flippin.

I took Mrs. Flippin after failing the Jepet! Moreover, 90% of the students in the class failed the Jepet. Our first assignment was to make up a new name for the Jepet! Needless to say we vented our frustrations on our first essay. The class is easy paced with about an essay every 3 weeks for a total of 5 eassys with the last one being the final. She doesn't keep a rigid adherence to role and will accept late homeworks. She loves to through out controversial topics for disscusion and essay topics.

My instructor's performance of Flippin is not a good teacher. She doesn't help each students with their essays. She should assign more homeworks. Also, she would assign each students to read more on the textbooks. She grades the homework very difficult. So be aware of taking this class. You will be in a ride for hell!
