Dr.Kim Foreman was great and so was the class! ITEC712 is a course teachers need to take to clear their credentials, and so most people aren't thrilled about being there in the first place. Our course was very intensive Fri 4-10 and Sat 9-5 x 3 weeks, but there was virtually no homework and the course was very interesting. No matter what your comfort level with computers, you will learn a lot. she also had great helpers, Anita and Chin, walking around helping students. With every class, different products/projects were produced, culminating with a web site in one day! Incredible!!!

Dr. Foreman offers a very fine curriculumn with patience, good humor, and full knowledge of the subject. The course was intensive, with a broad-based introduction to various technologies useful to public school teachers. She presented effectively and comprehsively. She is knowledgeable, competent, and gives endless assistance with good humor, even to the most resolute technophobe. I highly recommend her for anyone who needs a comprehensive and engaging intorduction to technology in the public schools.

I did it! I made it through three weeks of intense and challenging learning in ITEC 712. I couldn't believe how helpful and patient Kim was. She's the best! Our assignments were structured in such a way that kept our focus and enthusiasm high. Kim has a gentle manner that encourages all to grow and learn from each other. I highly recommend this course!

She is really friendly and knows how to make students work hard on projects or assignments well. The classroom atmosphere is really nice and friendly. I enjoyed this class with her!!!!!! She made me not to afraid of using computers. Although we covered pretty many things in this couese, we could catch up easily and she didn't give students any pressure during working.

She is very kind to all students. She knows well not only about how to use computer effectively, but also about how to make the class fun. Computer may seem so difficult for some people, and actually it did for me, but she will first teach you how computer is easy and fun to use. So no matter how you are afraid of trying with computer, once you take her class, computer will become one of your good friends. In ITEC712, she will teach you how to use software like "KidPix," "PowerPoint," and so on. All will be very useful, especially if you want to be any kinds of teacher. I reccommend you to take her class whether you are familiar with computer or not, because her lecture itself will show you how to teach your class. Her instruction is very easy to understand. Though before I took her class I do not know about computer at all, after the class was over I could feel like I was a specialist. This is not exaggeration. Finally, I like and respect her and her class.

This instructor has the patience of Job! She is articulate and very well prepared. I have taken 4 Computer classes before and learned more in this class than all the others combined. Her enthusiam was contagious. Even though she was constantly interupted with questions, she managed to keep 25 students in complete line with what she was doing. She recognizes the importance of this and the need for continued education.

Dr. Foreman certainly deserves an "E" for effort but I'm afraid I wasn't as happy as some other people seemed to be about her class. I admit that the basic problem was something which was not of her making, i.e., the subject matter was abysmally dense and boring - five years of getting up at the crack of dawn to teach half asleep military conscripts in Saudi Arabia was, for me, never as tough as getting through this one semester of the "history of instructional theory." Thus, Dr. Foreman certainly deserves a lot of credit in attemping to make the material as interesting as possible. But, there was just too much of it, in the form of interminable readings - and written essays, to have to deal with in one semester. It was something of a real grind and I think that she could have done a better job in preparing the course content for her students than just making them wade through all of that arcane and convoluted reading, i.e., a major portion of her course syllabus prepartion should be spent in condensing the monstrous heap of instructional history and theory into a more manageable and easily digestible body of essential issues and concepts. Furthermore, what only compounded the difficulty of dealing with this unwieldly mass of unpalatable material was the fact that it was somewhat difficult, at times, to understand what Dr. Kim was saying during her lectures (I heard this complaint voiced more than once during the course of the semester by more than one student). And, as a former English teacher, I was frequently annoyed and frustrated by the numerous and glaring grammatical mistakes in the written instructions to her assignments. O.K., so I don't speak Korean as well as she speaks English but, by the same token, what chance would I have of becoming a full professor in Korea if I spoke Korean as problematically as she speaks and writes English? Not much at all I'm afraid.

Dr. Foreman is a highly effective instructor. She brings great enthusiasm and bountiful knowledge to share with the students, in return elicits a high level of interest and high quality work. Weekly assignments and a final project were too much in a course but after it's all over, I have to say that learning all the theory was worth it.

I liked this class very much. I agree with the instructor that theory is important for a strong instsructional foundation. Professor Foreman was friendly and enthusiastic about teaching. I thought a theory course would be boring for me but I actually enjoyed it.

I feel that Kim is a very nice lady, however I feel the subject content is very dry, and hasn't been changed for a few years. It appears to me that there has been very limited time in searching for new materials and revamping the current curriculum. For example, the Final Project we are doing is identical to that of a class from 1995.
