Eliza Fournier

Madame Fournier is a wonderful teacher. She is generous with her grading to the point of charity and I think I would have like it if there had been more homework for the class. Regardless, Madame was a wonderful, kind, teacher who is very enthusiastic about her native language.

There is a test every three-ish weeks, a workbook for the laboratory, and a "causserie" - you have to partner up with a couple other students and do a brief scene using newly learned aspects of the language. She gives very clear and specific guidelines about the causseries and she is realistic about what you can have learned. You'll never be sorry that you studied with Madame Fournier.

I would recommend anyone who has even the slightest interest in learning French to take a course with Mdme.Fournier. She is an extremely patient women and at the same time has a sense of humor, which in my case, carried onto many of the students as well. Mdme.Fournier has a passion for teaching-her lectures are clear and when a question is asked, she makes sure that it is understood. She is so kind and optimistic-I appreciate her not only as a teacher but also as a person in general. She gives her students a good base for continuing with their French. Also, expect to do a lot of studying outside of class...your french will improve a lot!

If you are planning to take French 101 Madam Fournier is FANTASTIC!! Contrary to some beliefs, she is NOT easy, she makes students work hard, but she is fair. She's also just a wonderful person, full of zest for life, and seems to love her job. (Not something I can say about all of my teachers). If you work hard, you'll learn lots and have FUN doing it! I highly recommend this teacher!
