We need more teachers like this one!

Franco is a great teacher, and if you must take 205 make sure he is teaching it! His lectures are very interesting (could you believe a circuits lecture could be interesting?) and to the point. The homework is very difficult (many things in the HW are not covered in class) and the exams have problems similar to the HW. If you come to every class and at least attempt all of the HW problems (in other words, actually do a little work...) then you will get an A in this class.

Electronics the way it should be tought

Well.. We meet again.. One of the best Electronics teachers on this planet, and I am not exadurating. This teacher will send you home with a full understanding of happened in the lecture, and you will be able to do the homework without even going throught the assigned reading, given that you give him your full span of attention and so fourth. his exames tests how well you follow the lecture, added some trickes that you would learn doing the homework. Some students say his exams are hard, but they do not know what they are talking about till they find a job; cause the job place is all tricks and no electronics. His lectures are from the field, he gives you the upper hand on things, and he does everything for the benefit of the student. He is fun guy to talk to, and great guy to know. He know the industry inside out and will not hesitate to answere any of you questions even if they are silly.

One of the most interesting teachers I've ever had. He says the most unexpected things and the analogies that he makes are weird but very funny, but he's not a hard instructor (though other people may claim otherwise). My personal advice in order to do well in this class is to go over all the examples in the book, make sure that you understand how each problem is solved, take note of the tricks in the problem solving, and try to do the homework (8 problems, does take quite a while sometimes, but worth it since the exams seem to me to be a lot easier than the hw's). P.S.if you have to yawn in his class, cover your mouth--otherwise he does not like to see it.

Franco is the best teacher i've ever had on this campus. the reason why i rate him best is because he breaks it down.i go in class unprepared and still understand what he's talking about.i agree that his tests are not easy, but if you understand the material don't worry about the grade.you'll get the grade automatically.those who complain about Franco should ask themselves whether engineering is their major or not. it is possible to take this class without ever having the prerequisite class diff equations. thanks to Franco he teaches even math in a circuit class!!!!! so people don't complain...

If you don't like Dr. Franco, there is something worng with you. If you think he is too difficult, you haven't studied harder enough. People, please do not listen to the stories from others saying how bad and difficult he is. I can tell you that he covers everything in the lecture that you need to know for the exams and more importantly for you as an EE major. He is one of the better instructors in this school. If you want to learn, Franco is the teacher that you will learn a lot from. If you don't want to learn, you shouldn't come to school at all! He explains everything extremely clear and have the enthusiasm that no other teachers have. He is definitely the best instructor we have at SFSU. = )

Dr. Franco is really knowing the Electrical stuffs well, and he explains all the course materials extremely well in his lectures; but when it comes to taking his tests, majority of students failed. Students have been receiving a D- to F average on both his exams. This is not just happening just once and it has been happening throughout his teaching careet at SFSU. Students found that his exams are not reflecting what he covers in his lectures, and from the homework he gives out. I am not saying he is a bad professor and in fact he is one of the best in the Electrical Engineering Department and has been very helpful to help students to solve problems; yet he lacts to realize that we are only students and we don't understand all the materials as well as him.

Franco is the man, he is on of the best in the field of electronics, the tests reflect the class material which he enthusiastically explains. If you do the homework and understand it you would be in a good shape, if you can't do the h.w he is more than happy to explain in his office. He is an excellent lecturer, stressing on the impotent parts , demonstrating practical use of all circuits we study, not to mention his humor that wakes you up in the morning. overall i think he is a great Professor
