I never thought Accounting could be interesting but.....

Mr. Friedman was a very good instructor for Accounting. He has had much real world experience, a great sense of humor, used practical examples and had fair tests. I couldn't ask for much more. My only complaint was that the exams were a huge portion of your grade - he didn't collect practice problems, and didn't have regular assignments, so there was huge pressure to do well on exams.

Real world experience

Marv Friedman is an accountant and has worked with a top 5 accountancy corporation. He is a real world professional who has a wonderful sense of humor. He makes you learn. While you can't get completely away from debits and credits, Marv shows you what are the relationships between the financial statements and what information each gives you. If you want to be able to read the financials of your company and utilize the results for analysis purposes then this is your class. If you prefer the bookkeeper approach, then try another class. I enjoyed his class. There were 3 multiple choice (some essay questions mixed in) tests given through the semester. If you attended class and did your homework (not collected), then the tests were very fair. This is the best experience I have had in the MBA program at SFSU.
