This teacher is good because she knows what she is talking about. her projects were hard, but you learn a lot from it. The tests were ok, if you listen to lecture, you should be ok. She takes you on a field trip, (optional) but i thought it was interesting. You will learn a lot from this teacher.

If you're a export import major or just taking it as a elective for any other IBUS major, Prof. Furuse is a great teacher to take and you'll learn a lot from her class. She will cover every tiny detail of projects and presentations, so you will never have to be unsure about what to do, and would not have any questions about any assignments. She will test you on only wht she covers in class, and her grading is fair. Basically she'll give you an A if you have everything done.
Although there ia alot of work to do in this class, I gurantee you that you will learn a lot about EXP/IMP, and that the class is very interesting even if you're not a IMP/EXP major.
The class consists of: 1: three term paper (10% each) 2: presentation on the 3 paper (10%) 3: article summary and pres. (10%) 4: 2 midterms (15% each) 5: Final (15%) 6: Class participation (5%)

Prof. Furuse's best quality as a teacher is that she is enthusiastic about the subject matter. It is obvious that she is knowledgeable and that she enjoys teaching the class. Her enthusiam rubs off on her students.
As for exams, projects & homeworks, Furuse requires students to do a major semester project, which consists of 3 progress reports. She passes out an outline, in which she clearly states what she wants to see on each report. This project is very time consuming, but the hardest part is the research--it becomes somewhat easier after this point. Once you've gathered enough information, it's just a matter of putting it all together. The key to getting good grades on all 3 reports is to follow instructions and be as detailed as possible. I liked doing the project, because I walked away w/ so much information and knowledge about Export/Import Management.
Furuse gives 2 midterms and a non-cumulative final. It consists of true/false and multiple choice questions. Some of the exam questions are quite tricky, but if you study enough, you should have no problems.
For HW, we were required to read several chapters in the book.
Be prepared to work hard in Furuse's class. To get an A, much time and effort are required. It's worth it!
