Stephen L. Gabow

I needed a class at the last minute, so i randomly added a night course, biological anthropology. well, it turned out to be my favourite class that semester and steven Gabow is an absoluting amazing professor. he's had so many life experiences as an anthropologist aside from being just a lecturer. he includes his stories without seeming full of himself. he knows so much about the subject and made everyone in class participate more than they were used too, because everyone found the class so interesting. it's not the easiest course, it's ALOT of information, it seems daunting at first. he doesn't really press upon reading in the book, but it can help when studying for his tests. he doesn't believe in multiple choice, so his tests are short answer, matching and essay. and the essay portion are the easiest points! he likes to know your opinion, especially when writing papers. there are two terms papers based on novels about anthropology that we can choose. be creative with your ideas, he really likes that! he's also very friendly and open to all kinds of discussion. i was really suprised and impressed! i totally recommend that class, and particulary Gabow as a professor.

This teacher's personality alone is enough to make you want to stay in the class, but luckily for all of us he knows his subject well. Class lectures were interesting and very amusing, even if you're only taking this class as a GE. Exams were fairly easy, study guide was helpful and if you take great notes you'll do great in his class.

He is a good teacher and you can get help from him. He teaches this class very well.It is a good choice to select him.

One of the best instructor's I've ever had. I thought the class was a lot of work but I've been out of school for a while. Steve's upbeat personality and entertaining lectures made this the only class I looked forward to each week. He was also available after hours and had a very capable TA. Know the study guides for exams!

Mr. Gabow is an excellent instructor. I would definetly recommend his classes to other students. He is hilarious, and is really well versed on the subjects taught in class. He is very open to questions, and if he doesn't know the answer, he is not afraid to say so. Mr. Gabow tells entertaining and interesting stories about his experiences that pertain to the class. If you need to fufill your Bio segment of GE, take this professor, you won't regret it!

Mr. Gabow is not only funny, he's well organized and very thoruogh. He is ALWAYS in a good mood and is available for questions whenever you have them. I have enjoyed taking his class- i feel that he treats his students as equals and there are no surprises on his tests-he gives out study guides before the tests and they cover everything on the upcoming test. I would recommend this class to anyone.

Prof. Gabow is a wonderful instructor. His lectures are very interesting and he encourages class discussions. Information is presented in a very clear manner, and he always asks if everyone understands before going on to new material. There is no written homework - just minimal outside readings; all grades are based on three exams during the semester and one final exam. Gabow knows his material extremely well, and on the rare occasions when a question arises that he doesn't know the answer to, he says so, rather than making up an answer as I've seen other instructors do. He tells jokes occasionally, and there hasn't been a single day when he's seemed the least bit upset or out of sorts. This is by far my favorite class this semester.
