Giusti is a good professor, the way he explains things so you understand everything after the lectures. But there is the one problem, the exams. I got a F on my first exam, I had no clue how they were. It is okay with open book exams, and at those exams you are suppose to have less time, but his were extremely difficult. I met him during office hours, and proved I knew the subject. Just forget about those juicy extra credit that he offers, they are far too difficult. I tried a couple of times, but I just gave up. You will learn finance from him, but you will not get a good grade. In my class also 70% dropped. I got my only C in his class, damn that hurt my GPA.

GUISTI, IS PROBABLY THE BEST LECTURER IN THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT, HE MAKES THE CLASS INTERESTING BY GIVING EXAMPLES OF IT IN THE REAL WORLD... HE HAS A TENDENCY TO MAKE HIS EXAMS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, CONSIDERIN THE LAID-BACK MANNER HE TEACHES... IF U WANT TO LEARN THE WORLD OF FINANCE , I WOULD RECOMMEND, IF U WANT TO BREEZE, RUN LIKE THE WIND... EVEN A FINANCE MAJOR LIKE ME HAD TO STRUGGLE TO PASS HIS CLASS, BUT ONE THING HE ENGRAINED FINANCE INTO ME, AND ITS MAKING THE REST OF MY FINANCE COURSES A BREEZE...IF U WANT TO LEARN TAKE GUISTI, IF U WANT A GOOD GRADES, LEAVE

I wish I had seen the previous reviews before I took his class (or wish that those reviews were there before!) Giusit is a good lecture. He knows his stuff and is very organized. In fact, he's so organized that he'd tell you exactly what and when to expect to the see the materials again as the semester progresses. But his class is DAMN HARD. I don't understand why he went over all the chapters so quickly that by the time we finish the book, we still have 3 weeks left!!! He doesn't allow you to ask questions (if you do, he'll make you like you're really stupid and that you don't belong there!!). Our class started out with 60; only 12 showed up for finals. He does give extra credits but they are extremely hard to do. You have to go beyond the scope of the class to research; but the worse part of it is, he may not even give you those extra credit after all the hard work!! His exams are open book... but what's the point when the stuff he has on the exam are nothing like the problems in the book??!! No matter how much time you have in class, he only limits you to finish in 1-1/2 hrs. Exams are usually 4 questions (sounds easy, right? WRONG!!!). I went to class EVERYDAY, read the chapters as told, did the homework problems; I even bought a recorder just to keep up with his lectures... I ended up with F. I personally think Guisti should realize that this class is an elementary level to Finance, not like him, who took as his masters!!! Don't take him even if there's nobody else!!!!

George is a good lecturer, but if you care about grades at all DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! His tests are ridiculously hard and impossible to finish and there is no curve. 90% of the students fail the his class and rest are barely passing with a C. The tests are nothing like what is taught in the class or the book. No matter how much you study the best you can hope for is B on the test and that is if you are lucky.

This class is amazingly difficult. George is a very funny, intelligent guy. Because of his interesting personality, I actually thought this class wouldn't be all that bad. That was before the exams. Now I know that I was dreaming. The first exam was a bomb for most people in the class. Knowing that this class was hard as hell, I studied my ass off for the second exam---I did all of the HW problems (got the correct answers and understood them) and went over and understood all of the lecture material. None of that mattered because the second exam was a joke just like the first one. Come on George, get real. Most people in this class are NOT Finance majors. We deserve a shot too. Unless you already know your Finance, avoid Giusti. His exams are foreign to non-Finance majors. He lectures way too fast for the amount of material that he covers. George himself said "Unless you can write a one-page essay on all of the terms that we cover, you will never do well in this class." That's it in a nutshell except for one detail he left out. Not only should you be prepared to write an essay on what he covers, what the hell -- why not know all kinds of other stuff he doesn't? This class sucks!

Giusti is a financial management robot. His lecture is so damn well done you'd think he was a news anchor. He explains the stuff real well. He is a good teacher but I don't recommend taking the class because thier were only 8 people left at the final (the class originally had 80!). The tests are the hardest tests you can possibly take at this University. Each problem requires extreme concentration and speed, YOU CAN'T FINISH A GEORGE GIUSTI EXAM!!! Beware, for your own good because he has no mercey, you have an 85% chance of dropping or failing. Unless you will study Finance for at least 5 hours a day, you will not pass.
