Angela Gonzales

I really enjoyed this class-- well, at least up until half way through it. Then, Angela Gonzales had to have emergency surgery. We were told we might be able to have her assistant, Judy teach the rest of the class. Actually, I thought this was great because she was so funny and nice and accessible and at the same time knew so much. Sometimes, it seemed she knew as much if not more than Prof Gonzales. Well, we got Emily Chavez and not Judy. This was really too bad because after that I lost all interest in the class. It was boring, not like before with Prof Gonzales and Judy. I think the department made a terrible mistake, especially after we found out that Emily Chavez didn't know the material any more than we did and we were taking the course. Not only that but Prof. Gonzales's assistant Judy got admitted to Harvard University and it was obvious that she knew so much and was a great teacher like Prof Gonzales. This school is so stupid sometimes. I'm never taking another American Indian Studies class ever again because now Prof Gonzales isn't here anymore and I don't know if there are any good professors teaching in the department because a friend of mine took Joely DeLaTorre and Prof Parent's classes and she said they were awful.

wow, Professor Gonzales is a very nice person, and I like her alot, but I really disliked being in her critical thinking class. She cancelled class all the time. Yes, she was very busy working on a very important symposium, but the reason she is working as a teacher is to teach, at least I think. Professor Gonzales set up a web based curriculum that she stopped using about halfway through the class, which was disapointing. And to wrap things up, since this was a critical thinking class with an emphasis on Native American issues, I thought we would cover more than two. Since we all must take critical thinking, you might as well take it with her, because she is a genuinely nice and warm person. But don't expect to learn alot and don't expect her to put teaching as her top priority.
