Mike Hammer

Prof Hammer is a great Spanish teacher. He makes class fun and tries to get the whole class involved by using relevant and fun topics to explain the material. I was afraid of this class because I knew only 3 words in Spanish, but he ensured the class that Span I is for beginners and told the native speakers to look for an advanced class. His tests were pretty easy if you studied, but the book covers a lot of material so it is time consuming to study it all. I am definitely taking his Span II class this fall.

this is his first sem in sfsu and he's a really great professor! i learned a lot and if you are a total beginner like i was, then his class is perfect for you.

always makes himself availabe even if it's not his office hour and he is very acomodating. he has a sense of humor that he is not afraid to use in class and makes class fun.

tests are a bit difficult but that's raelly in learning the language. as long as you read the book you'll be fine. he's a good teacher.
