This is the teacher you love to hate and hate to love. His class is hard. He is serious and strict. He comes across as cold and unforgiving. He is one of the most professional teaches in the department. View his class as a sort of boot camp. Visit him during his office hour to see his warm side and discover that he is actually a very caring teacher. His class can be very representative of the "real world". If you feel that he puts too much pressure on you to perform, you are right...he is...and there is a good reason for it. Take at least one class from him while you are in the department.

Professor Hazelwood is one that commands respect and high performance. He expects only the best from his students and if you are willing to accept his high standards, you will be thoroughly satisfied with the learning experience in his classes. He has become a mentor to me and a great inspiration to me in the Broadcasting field. He challenges you, but gives you enough freedom to let your ideas and efforts flourish. If you need his help, be specific with your questions and needs. If you wait for him to check on how you're doing, it won't happen. His teaching style prepares you for the real world. And if you show persistance and hard work, you will never fail. Don't get discouraged if it seems your work isn't good enough. He's always watching, and if you're doing your very best, he'll know.
