Arrogant, condescending, and a horrible teacher

Gil was really big in anthropology for studies he did of the Sambia culture (now dead) and he does know a lot. However, he's stuck in a different era and seems to have difficulty relating to modern times. He often makes sexist remarks. His grading system appears to be entirely random. The first half of the class he spent lecturing, usually over things we had already covered thoroughly in the other required course for first year graduate students in Human Sexuality (only then we covered it better). The second half, he realized he was the only one talking (low and behold) and due to criticisms from previous students, he decided to do something about it. So instead of him lecturing, he had each student take over some chapters of the required books and review them in class. So instead of his lectures we got summations of stuff we were already supposed to have read. The readings were not difficult to understand so that ended up being almost as boring as listening to Gil go off on his many tangents riddled with name-dropping and snobbing pronunciation (coitus=co-eye-tus like its a disease and France=Fraaahnce). If you try to start a discussion, he will take it as contradicting what he has said and will then jump down your throat or use the Socratic method and blatant manipulation and misrepresentation to "win." He blatantly discourages critical thinking. He's one of the most arrogant men I've ever met. He may start of as somewhat charming, but quickly you realize he is tedious and often offensive.
