Lectures based completely on text reading the night before, she literally read from the book, which snuffed any ability to pay attention. She had little empathy with personal issues students had, and refused to pass you if you were missing ONE assignment. I will do anything to not have this professor again, and you should consider it too.

Good class but it could use a more knowledgable prof... spent 25% of class watching her freak out and deal with the computer crashing... the calss was fun because you really interact with your classmates since she often is out of the room and you have to ask someone else for help... class would not be possible without BARRY, the lab assistant who is stuck with the job of making up for Ellen's shortcomings.

I thought she was a great instructor! Spoke well, fair expectations, challenging assignments. Interesting texts, two(or 3-- it was 6 mos ago!)tests, 1 term paper and a weekly journal (which I thought was a great way to make sure we all kept well informed)that were all graded fairly. Interesting material, knowledgeable, caring and a great speaker. I'd be happy to take another class with her.

The material was not checked for accuracy or relevance before lecture. Assignments were full of errors. When things went wrong the professor got angry at lab assistants or students, rather than admit she had made a mistake.

Whew! I thought this course would be hard since its GEOG 600. Well, there are alot of work. At the end of the semester, a 10 page term paper is due on an environmental problem. And there's is a notebook you gotta turn it. The notebook consists of 14 articles you collect for each week of the semester. The article is suppose to be environmental related. You have to summarize the article and write your response to it. Her exams are not hard, as long you study fromthe study guide. It can be a very easy A!
