Harriett Jernigan

She's a really fun teacher who can easily get along with anyone. Very free spirited, open to discussions, ideas, and just about anything besides school. She filled in unexpectedly for the teacher who was supposed to teach our class but I'm glad it turned out the way it did. The only problem was that Professor Jernigan filled in at the last minute so basically she had nothing set up but had to follow along with the other teacher's plans, which were very bizarre and odd topics. I could not find any writing connection at all between the topics, even Professor Jernigan mentioned they were quite unusual. But overall, Professor Jernigan is a great teacher who understands and can relate. She reminds me of the movie "So I Married An Axe Murderer" when Mike Myers sings "Harriett, sweet Harriett!"

I love Dr.J! She's the best professor I've had so far! I had her for ENG 114 and 214 and I'm very upset that she doesn't teach any upper divison English classes. She always makes class fun and interesting. You have to work hard to get an A in her class but it's totally worth it. Dr. J is a fair grader. I highly recommend her to any student who was take 114 and 214. Believe me, you won't find another teacher like her on campus! She's been an inspiration to me (im an english major) and a great mentor!

Dr. J is awesome! She is a great professor who is truely passionate about teaching. She is also hilarious which always makes class exciting. I hope to take more classes with Dr. J because she is that great. She makes a big effort to be available for her students whenever she can. Her lectures and discussion topics were all very interesting. If you are reading this, you should really try to take a class with Dr.J!!!

u cant get a better english teacher. she is easy to reach via. email or after class. she is hilarious, and words cant really describe the teacher she is, take her for a teach. you wont regret it!

The moment I set foot in Dr.Jernigan's classroom, I, along with the rest of the class, was dying of laughter. She is almost always in a good mood, and even when she's not, she doesn't let it rub off onto her students. The essay topics are for the most part very interesting, which made it a much easier and more enjoyable process. She doesn't give easy A's, but she's not extremely tough..just try your best and you should be fine. This is not another boring English class! She makes sure to engage her students in the discussions, which are really interesting. Most of the students found it really easy to speak up and voice their opinions, which Dr. Jernigan really appreciates. She's a wonderful professor.

she is a great teacher.. she has a unique teaching style that while learning, u actually have fun.. i must say her class is great, she makes it fun and cracks tons of jokes... no tests, just essays, if you want a great class with tons of feedback, get her

Great Great Great. She's wonderful!! She likes to joke in class, she realizes student's imperfection and she does not grade too hard. She gives her students chances to pass/excel in English. Very recommended, especially to those whose mother tounge is not English. :)

Absolutely wonderful. Friendly, easy going and very knowledgable. I found her teching methods to be exceptional. Recommend her to anyone, writing enthusiast or the opposite.

Dr.Jernigan is a great teacher! She has a very unique way of teaching which makes every class fun and interesting! Besides, she can be a good friend who you can talk to. Strongly recommend to you all!
