Hard core, but you will learn!!!

Another professor said that your performance in NURS114 is indicative of how you will do in JB's class. The point is that you have to learn this stuff inside and out. The tapes you can buy help out huge, but you have to even break them down into segments so you learn each topic in depth. It is hard but she knows her stuff! Grades are based on only 2 or 3 multiple choice tests (as many of the nursing classes), which makes it tough to get a good grade if you don't slam dunk all the concepts.

ONE OF THE BEST OF THE BEST!!

If I had to take this class over again, I'd probably want to shoot myself for being stupid and lazy. If you don't pass, its not the end of the world, just take it over again. Dr. JB is a no-nonsense teacher and by far one of the best instructors you could learn from. My advise is if you want to do well in this class, you need to prepare ahead of time which includes doing your reading per syllabus, (patho and med surg) and watching her tapes (helps alot). She does lecture fast so bring along a tape recorder. This is a CRITICAL THINKING class. Dr. JB knows her material. Once you've memorized and absorbed the material backwards and forwards you too can apply it to any situations she gives you. This is one of the HARDEST class but will prepare you to be the best that you can be. She has always treated me in a professional manner and was available to answer questions even if I did not make an appointment. Her test questions are very good AND hard thinking questions AND if you've mastered the material inside and out, you will do fine. If you don't want to work hard for your grade, do your reading, comprehend the material backwards and forwards throughout the whole semester, then this is not the class for you. HINT: Test questions are not like the ones where you just read the book and take the test and pass.

Old evil witch!!

She is a horrible instructor. She may be a great clinical nurse, but she shouldn't teach. Her tests are confusing and wrong. Her lectures are dry, old and boring. She doesnt assign homework, she doesnt engage class in fun activities, she should retire and stop torturing students. If you have a chance, take pathophysiology class elsewhere!!!

Need to be open mind to other race group and age

In her class itis difficult to earn a grade A She is using power point presentation and never writing in the board in order to explain better, class is too long, she is not available to students,or if she gave you an appoitment she uses closed ended answers, and finally I think that she like to show off her status and power. At this course we are supposed to be learning how to promote wellnes on other human beings by examining correctly the body of the patient, but she is promoting anxiety and paranoia on the students. No help is available from her.
