Karen Johnson-Carroll

Karen is a wonderful teacher. She is very personable and approachable. She explains and teaches the material in a very interesting manner. She is very lively and promotes a very postive class atmosphere. I had a fun time doing my homework and projects. I highly recommend her!

Karen is an exceptional professor. She is so much fun!!! She is always enthusiastic when she lectures. She's the kind of professor who can make your day brighter simply because of her personality. CFS 542 is an easy class (she even says so herself), given that you do ALL that she requires.

We had to do a group presentation/project, go on 2 field trips, write 2 papers, and take 2 multiple choice exams. It may sound overwhelming, but they are all fun assignments. Trust me! She lets you choose your group members, and I have to stress the importance of choosing HARDWORKING and CREATIVE people. It will make your life easier.

I definitely suggest taking Karen. She has a great attitude toward everything.

Karen is an outstanding professor. She is very knowledgeable in her field and works well with the students. Her tests and assignments are very clear especiallly since she gives many examples. Even if one does not understand, she is more than willing to answer any additional questions one may have. She is a fair grader and you will not find any terrible surprises in her class. First day of class she make it clear what she expects of you and is followed through the end of the semester.

This instructor is to easy on her students. I did not feel challenged at all. Most of the time I felt as though I was in the third grade. She needs to be more professional and fair with all of her students. She tends to be easy on the students that she likes the best. Her lectures are very long and drawn out. Her reading material boring and very OLD! She needs to be more consistent with her schedualing. The projects dates were always being changed, and she was harldly in class. I also feel as though she places to much power with her teachers assistants. I honestly felt as though the T.A.'s were teaching the class. I felt like anything that I learned was on my own.

Johnson-Carroll is a great instructor. She is friendly, easy to approach, willing to help students that are confused, and enthusiastic about the subject. This class is an easy "A" if all the work is simply completed and correctly as instructed. This is basically an art class for dummies. You don't have to be good in art, you just have to know how to follow instructions. The class consisted mainly in art projects such as self-portrait mosaics, tie-dying, and a food design. Other projects were 3 field trips to the art museums: SFMOMA, Legion or Honor, and De Young (you just have to show up--no papers or analysis was required on the museum trips). One field trip was to a local restaurant (Chevy's @ Stonestown) for a food review (one short paper). No text books were required.

She was a very nice teacher. She was very caring to her students. She was very communicative to her students. Her class was busy overall. A lot of assignments to do! A lot of time that you need to spare for this class in order to survive in this class. Even though you will have a lot of assignments to do, they were all fun things to do. Very various tasks that would interest you. In this class, you will do things that you will never meet before during your life. Her class was fun because she would ask to do group projects. It would help you to participate more in class and know more people in the class. Always smile to her students and it would make you feel great to be one of her students...

She the best teacher i have ever met. She is nice, has a sense of humor. it is very easy in to get an A in CFS 240, she grades so easy. AS long as you finish all the assignments and attend classes, you definitely will not have problems in her class. She is willing to help students, even gives student a ride for the field trips. i recommend for all students who want to improve their GPA.

Karen is the best teacher I've had. She's very understanding, friendly, helpful and fair. She's very down-to-earth and considerate. She will return your phone calls and during office hours she will answer your questions. As a student, you will have confidence in Karen as a person and teacher. On this campus, there should be more people and teachers like Dr. Johnson-Carroll. There should be more developed people like Karen.

Karen, is greatest teacher I had ever had. I will missed her when I'm gone. She's very good in her teaching, very understanding, very caring, and most of all very smart!. I would recommend this teacher to any one of you who is interested in becoming an Interior Designer. GREAT JOB KAREN!!!!!!
