This teacher is great for intro to economics. The lectures are very informative and are pretty much the only thing you need to pass the class, although some subjects are more difficult to grasp than others and in that case, you need the book to help you. The homework is pretty simple, and he gives you credit just for trying. The tests are pretty much exactly like the homework, so just study from those and your lecture notes. This professor really wants his students to learn, and I would higly reccomend taking any of his classes. As an added bonus, Prof. Jonas is even funny, which makes his lectures that much more worth listening to. I never noticed a single person falling asleep in class, which is always a very good thing.

Very easy class. I recommend taking this teacher. No need to buy the book. I didnt even read the book. He writes everything you need on the board thats on the tests. There are 3 tests and 1 final. If u go to class and take notes you should get an A. I missed like 2 weeks of class and still got a B.

One the best classes I have ever taken. He made me want to minor in economics. It's easy if you pay attention do the hw in advance so that you can have time to truly understand the material and study. I was able to go to his office hours and even catch him on the weekends in emails. There was never a time during class that he didnt answer questions during class. He explained everything in English, not in long, unbareable definitions from teh book. He didnt use the book that often. Most of the material on the tests weren't surprising because he tells you in advance what to study for. I will warn you he did give a test that was six pages long and included mainly calculations. Do the hw, make your own study guides, ask questions and you will not struggle in his class. If you want a course that is fun and easy to understand I hope would definently recommend Mr. J!!

I hate econ, but Professor Jonas teaches it well. I never will be good at econ, but this teacher is one you want. He really does a great job at teaching it and cracks a few jokes becuase even he knows that economics isnt everyone's favorite class. If you go to all his classes and take notes and don't mess around, you should do fine.

I think he is a great teacher and he cracks some funny jokes every once in a while. His class is mainly based on copying notes off of the blackboard and then reiterating them onto a test. He's a good introductory economics teacher! You just have to be willing to put in the work.

Only homework four problem sets. 10% Four Quizes. 15% 3 midterms. 45% Comprehensive Final. 30% Not to tough. Take good notes and Text is not needed. Do problem sets and the tests and quizes are easy. Quizes are m/c tests are half m/c and half fill in, usuall graphical analysis. Teacher is interesting and but in a large lecture class there is always that stupid older person sitting up front asking dumb questions he just explained.

I recommend this teacher. He is kind of nerdy, but tries hard to make Econ as interesting as possible. His class is really simple and easy to pass. Make sure to take good notes and study those instead of the book. There are only 4 homework assignments and you get credit for trying the problems.

Professor Jonas is wonderful. He is very easy to understand and always receptive to questions. He is very clear about what will be on a quiz or exam, and and distributes very helpful probelm sets before hand. Very easy to do well in this class so long as you attend class on a very regular basis.

It was Professor Mike's first sem teaching at SFSU when I took his class, and I have to say that some senior profs aren't even as good. His lectures are entertaining, he makes sure you understand all the theories and principles and his little quips and jokes are hilarious. He gives weekly homework that preps you very effectively for the exams, his class requires constant moderate effort, but you will be rewarded! A very approachable and knowledgable person, he's one of the best educators I've come across!
