Not as bad as everyone else says

I read the previous reviews and I don't think they reflect Professor Kashevaroff exactly. I took him recently so maybe he changed or maybe it's a different professor that they are talkin about, but I doubt it. Anyway this class is a breeze; if you can read and utilize tables, follow diagrams, and do simple algebra(boolean), then you can pass his class. If you actually put some effort and study, you can pull off an A especially with this generous curve.

A Disappointing Teacher

I agree with the two reviewers word for word. Although the guy seems to be a nice guy, he is not a good teacher. I haven't learnt a BIT (no pun intended) in his class. I thought I was a pretty good student until I took his class and his class drastically lowered my confidence on my abilities as a student.

No matter how hard you prepare for his exams, you will end up disappointed. The two reviewers said it all when it comes to his homework.

Unless you are an Engineering major, or you have taken an Eng class before and you have a pretty good grasp of the concepts, you will have a lot of trouble in his class. Be prepared for a high level of frustration if this is your first logic and computer design class.

I must say again that he is a nice guy and does try to help you out when you go to him for help.

Horrible teacher

He gives weekly homework assignments that are pretty hard. The textbook does not give enough examples to let you grasp the concepts well enough to figure out homework, and it's a hard read. And he thoroughly grades your homework. But what's worse is, his tests are sooooo hard and tricky. He's the kind of teacher who wants to test you on WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW, not what you do. He may only give you 5 or so problems on the test, but each and every one is REALLY painstakingly difficult and definitely tricky. You have to know your HW inside out, and not only that, because he'll take those HW problems and make them 3 times more complicated - and put it on the test. (And the HW is hard enough as it is, to figure out!) And his lectures are not very good. He does not stress nitty gritty concepts when teaching. He just throws a bunch of diagrams and numbers on the board - and hope that you get it. He writes really fast on the board too, so you're focused on writing your notes as fast as you can, and end up not paying attention to what's he's saying. It's ok, because what he says is not very helpful anyway. BE WARNED...you'll be in for A LOT of discouragement.
