Andrea Kevech

She is funny, she helps you to feel comfortable to speak in front of the class. I studied a lot about how to make a good speech, and I use what studied in my other classes. This class - Ms. A. Kevech- helped me to overcome the diffuculties what the non native speaker has in front of others... Of course if I can I still avoid speak in public, but if I have to I not freak out and try to remember what we study in class. And it really help. Overall, I found her class very useful in real life. She never criticized anybody in a way that would feel bad, she pointed out the mistakes in a very nice way.

She is a very nice teacher. She always makes her lecture very fun. Although she pass back the essay late, her grading is fair. Her conference can help you alot. She gives you useful advice which can help you get a good grade. It is true that she has many notebook entry to do but it is very helpful when your essays come. It's not hard to pass her class as long as you spend time and work hard on the homework. I really recommand her.

She has a weird personality - she gestures a lot, speaks really loud and laughs in a weird way. In the beginning you're trying to get used to this, later you're just annoyed. I didn't like the way she handled our discussions - it didn't seem like she was very encouraging if you didn't share her point of view. Everything in this class would drag on forever - we would read a 1 page story and then talk about it for 3 weeks. You'll go nuts. Also, it took forever to get our papers back. Papers had no useful feedback on it, it just seemed like she didn't want you to progress and improve your writing. She expects a lot and offers little. And she refuses to learn how to use email. Sad. There are better choices out there.

Ms. Kevech is not the best teacher I have ever had, but for sure, she is one of the excellent teachers in SFSU. She has nice and warm personality. She is always easy to approach and always available whenever you need help. She treats every student with respect no matter you are a lazy or hard-working student. There are 3 at-home essays, 2 in-class essays, and couple notbook entry during the semester. That's all! The at-home essays are a bit hard because she has high expectation on them. But don't worry!! She usually explains what she will expect clearly and she will give you examples and ideas. The conference meeting is very helpful for your at-home essay, make sure you prepare your own questions for the confrence. If you got a low grade on your at-home essay, just relax, because you can rewrite one essay for a total new grade. She will usually give you ideas on how to make your rewrite better. Isn't it nice?? By the way, she always give feedback on your essays as well as the notebook entries. About the in-class essay? They are very very esay. I think they are too esay for college students. It's always fun in her class since she encourages group discussions a lot. If you don't want to present your ideas,(that's OK), she won't force you and pick on you.

She is a great teacher. She alwalys make the classes enjoyable and funny. You never get too many homeworks and exams. You just need to write three typing essays. And you will have like three in class essays in which she will tell you the topic. And also you have to classes to write this in class essay. I think she is a nice teacher overall.

Andrea Kevech is a very different techer with her own teachingstyle. Her class is very easy because the course is VERY easy and does not contain a lot of work or facts/advise to learn. You are tought how to write a paper with a thesis, body and conclusion and that's it. This is something you should have picked up at least in highschool.

Be sure you really need to do this class. Save your money and take anotherone if possible. This one does not teach you a lot. Don't blame the teacher, she only does her job.
