The Best!

Johny is definitely one of the best math teachers I've had. Everything is explained so clearly that it actually seems easy. Very few teachers have the talent to do this, but Johny does. S.F. State is so lucky to have him.

Who knew good math teachers really existed?? johny's the best.

johny is a true math TEACHER. his ability to communicate the language of math to a pretty wide variety of us students was phenominal. he is excellent at explicating, in brief, the essence of concepts that drive what we are learning, yet he can and will go as deep into the concept as you want. his style of embedding student problem-solving into his lectures is really helpful, because our questions of understanding emerge right there in class. if you want to understand calculus, make sure you take it with johny.

The school of Science and Engineering is really lucky to have Johny!!!!

Johny, Is the best math teacher I've ever had. He treats his students like people instead of a social security number on his roll sheet. Secondly, he has the ability to articulate calculus concepts very well. The class is not that difficult if you go to all his lectures, take good notes, and make sure you understand the homework. However, if you slack off, you will do poorly on his tests and those are heavily weighted for your final grade.Good luck.

P.S. Johny, Good luck with the Business!!! AR

Rock solid teacher and guy

Teaching bonehead math must be incredibly boring, but Johny managed to get through it gracefully. His teaching style (I think) makes math easy to learn. You can use notes on tests so you can actually concentrate on the math instead of memorize 8 million formulas. Also, he doesn't include pesky word problems on tests. I remember no more than a couple of them. He's got a slight accent, but if that doesn't bother you then he's first class teacher and gentleman. He's playful with students, teasing them and interacting, but always in a respectful, intelligent way. His tests almost exactly mirrored his lectures; a huge plus. I see no ostensible way to complain about him as a person or the structuring of his class.

Good Teaching

I like math, and Johny is a good math teacher. He helped me understand Calculus and I did pretty well in the class. His lectures are very clear and easy to understand. He does very well at answering questions and going over problems we can't figure out. He prepares you for the test and quizes. The class was pretty easy, and I would recommend this teacher to anyone.

Great instructor!

Johny is an excellent instructor that shows enthusium in his students learning. He attempts to ensure that the students understand the concepts. When students seem confused about a particular concept, he spends extra time in that area. I've learned more than I imagined before I enrolled in his class. He looks at the work you do and not at the grades you get. If you work hard, you can not fail.

Truly a gifted math teacher.

Johny Khalilieh is an amazing teacher, able to explain calculus so it is easily understood. He gives complete reviews of all that you will need to know to do well on his quizzes and tests and the homework is reasonable.

It has been awhile since I have come across someone so patient and energetic about seeing the students really understand what he is teaching. You have every opportunity to get your questions answered in class because he doesn't move on in the lectures until he is satisfied the class understands the material.

He is also very available during office hours. I have even seen him stay past office hours just to work with a couple of us who were needing extra help.

If you are worried about taking this class, like I was, never fear. Johny Khalilieh will get you through calculus painlessly.

He made calc fun!

Johny made learning calculus easy and fun. He made things as simple as possible. For homework, mostly odd numbered problems were assigned. As long as you tried your best on the problems and showed your work, you earned full credit. There was usually a weekly quiz, and you were told about what it would cover in advance. There were about 4 exams and they were short so you never have to worry about running out of time. Johny is always willing to take time out and explain concepts you don't understand. He makes sure the class has learned a topic before moving on to something new. As long as you attend most classes and understand the assigned problems, you should earn a good grade. I highly recommend Johny!

AN AWESOME TEACHER!!!!!

For an illerate math student as myself, Johny has got to be one of the best math teachers. Homeworks and Tests are comprehendable, and easy to follow through with. This teach is willing to explain throughly and help us understand so we can be prepared for quantative reasoning math classes. I wish he was offered for more math classes, but he only teaches Tue/Thurs. He is enthusiatic about teaching math and eager for us to learn. Unlike the other math classes I have been too, none will let you use calculators (as if in the real world were not allowed to use them!!!) and Homeworks are for our benefit not for teachers to grade. Other math teachers drag on, knowing in their mind that the Alegrba II is easy, but sometimes its not to students. They make it so boring and hard to listen too. SO PROPS TO JOHNY!!!!!!!!
