Dr. Kim is a great professor! She made a difficult topic easy to understand. Her exams were tough but she provided great study guides...I recommend that you use them. There were two papers but they were not that hard. This course is demanding and definitely not a choice for anyone not willing to study. You cannot receive an easy A from Dr. Kim but you can receive an A that will make you proud. Another good thing about this course is that some of the material appears in other courses, i.e. psycholinguistics.

Ditto to the people who have already said stuff about her. Nancy Kim is way smart and such a fabulous teacher. I don't like cognitive psychology very much because it's hard for me to understand, but I understood it when she said it. I don't know what it is about her, but she explains things so well. And she doesn't do it by repeating herself over and over and over either, she's just really good. Her tests are hard, but she makes you understand things so it isn't so bad. I hope that she gets a full professor position at a good school one day because she deserves it a lot. She is outstanding and is the best instructor on this campus.

Dr. Kim is super duper smart, and I don't know what the hell she's doing at SFSU teaching since she has a Ph. D from like Berkeley or Harvard or some place like that. (I mean, she can do much better, you know.) Yet she really , really understands how the average student feels. I found this class relatively difficult, but she really made sure we understood the material and she often asked if we needed a break. One time I had a cold and wasn't ready for my midterm and sent her email and let her know that, and she promptly responded and even called me at home to tell me that I didn't have to drag myself out of the bed if I wasn't ready, and offered a later date to make it up. How many teachers go out of their way to do this for a student??? I definitely recommend her if you must take this class.

She best prof in the whole department. I never had time to go to her office hours but I think I missed out cause her classes are so good. Her text book is the worst thing in the world cause it's very dry and boring but I agree with the person below that if you go to class you won't ever have to open the book. She's clear and gives you typed notes to copy if you want from her lectures or you can write your own. She covers most of the material that is in the text book but she doesn't lecture right out of it. Instead she is much much much more interesting. You have to work hard in comparison to other stupid psychology classes here cause you have three exams and two papers but it's okay because everything is fair. You don't have to kill yourself to get everything done cause she gives you lots of time and if you need more time on the papers she'll help you with that too. If this school had more profs like her, we would come much closer to being a real university instead of a high school with expensive text books. Her class was the first time I have had to work since I came here.

Nancy Kim is a great prof. I loved her lectures. She puts typed overheads up that contain all the notes you'll need. All you have to do is copy them down on the typed outlines she passes out at the beginning of the lectures. I learned a lot about cognitive psychology from her because she's interesting and knows a lot about her subject.

She is an excellent teacher. Her lectures are loaded with material that's interesting. The textbook is terrible, but if you attend class, you won't ever have to open it because her lectures are complete and clear. She's challenging, but fair. Don't take her class if you need an easy A, but don't be afraid of it either because it's not too tough to get a B. I love this instructor, she's really good.

Dr. Kim is a challenging instructor, but very fair. She seems very knowledgeable, makes the topic interesting, and lectures in a clear manner. Her tests are a combination of multiple choice and short answer, with no surprises. She runs a study group outside of class for each exam. She is very available to students. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Kim is the best instructor I have had in the psychology department. Her lectures are highly organized, her voice is clear, she has a good grasp of the material she presents, and she always has examples and illustrations. She makes notetaking easy by providing typed overheads and photocopies of lecture outlines. She is demanding -- this isn't an easy A -- but is fair. There are two midterms and one cummulative final. The exams are half multiple choice (very straightforward questions) and half short-answer (again, straightforward). There are two papers, both well-defined. She is always willing to give endless amounts of help on the papers and exams. I appreciate her a great deal.
