Larry is very enthusiastic about this topic, and is willing to help when you ask him, though you do have to catch him at the "right time." For someone who didn't care very much about circuits, his enthusiasm has inspired me to further explore electronics.
Advice for students: Watch out for his labs and projects, as some of its experiments may take a while to complete.(possibly more time than just one lab period). When writing lab reports, explain data, observations, correlations, etc, thoroughly, and be sure to specify the question(s)(at least its number) you are answering. Near the end of the semester, he will assign a final exam project which may require you to purchase equipment from catalogues and/or Radio Shack. My advice is to start the project as soon as he assigns it.
As far as constructive criticism goes for Larry, I wished he gave more short introductory lectures to each lab or project because sometimes the topics discussed in this lab course may not correlate to topics discussed in ENGR 205(lecture), especially when the topics have not been covered in ENGR 205 yet.
Overall, Larry is a great, enthusiastic and reasonable instructor. Just make time to complete the lab reports.

Best thing about Prof Klingenberg is his attitude. His classes seem rushed, only going over each thing for a few minutes, but it is easy to grasp. Good introductory course.

If you are engineering student, take the class with this proffesor. Although he gave really lots of homework but all are easy if you follow his steps. the final project is good and you really learn something new for the final project. Sometimes he will talk about sometime that you might already known, but the class is really relax and he ussually give good grades.

Larry is a good lecturer and he is very enthusiastic. The man always has a smile on his face and jumps at the chance to help you, if you have a question or problem. We had hw assigned on the weekly basis. The hw was kind of time consuming. The class started off with those boring and annoying view drawings. The midterm consisted of drawing 10 of them in a period of 50 minutes. The rest of the class focused on working with Excel. After a few Excel hw assignments we just focused on the group project. The class emphasis was on this group project that was presented in class and as the final. It wasn't fair, though because not everyone presented twice. I would recommend Larry to anyone taking 101. He stresses the group project more than he should, but other than that I have no complaints.

Larry is very enthusiastic about engineering, (he is one of those proactive over-achievers) especially EE. He moves the class along at a relatively slow pace, giving sometimes several weeks to do very simple assigments- which he demonstrates in class and gives step by step instructions showing EXACTLY what to do. He is very reasonable and enthusiastic, sometimes his lectures are pretty boring, just because he goes so slow to make sure everyone undertands. he is very fair about HW/grading. he also gets a lot of guest speakers to come in and they are pretty interesting: you get an idea of what is out there in the working world of engineering. as far as his pojects go, they are lame. basically they take up more time than they are worth and you do not get much out of them.

Larry Klingenberg is a great teacher compared to the majority of instructors in the engineering department. He tries hard to make everything appear simple when sometimes things are not. He is very friendly and he is always available to help students. The only problem that I see in his class is the great amount of work that he assigns. ENGR101 is supposed to be a 1 unit class, but he assigns more work than many 4 units classes. If you take this class be ready to spend a lot of time working on the homework assigned in class and also in the lab.
