Carl Koehler

Carl is a really good professor he knows the subject indefinitely.He gives out a midterm and final plus a 10pg.paper, but don't let that discourage you.His lectures are interesting and he has some guest speakers.We got to tour the san francisco county Jail and I toured San Quentin it was awesome.For the san quentin tour he picks 25 people to go beacuse security is tight.Basically he passed out cards and if you picked a card that he was looking for you're going to SQ.Also he calls roll at the end of class so show up for class.He's the best teacher and you'll find out if you take him

If you ever take a CJ class make sure you take one with Koehler. He is one of, if not the best teacher at SFSU. He makes you want to go to class. His lectures are very interesting and he takes you on a tour to San Quentin Prison and to a San Francisco County Jail, he also has a lot of guest speakers, and videos. His exams(2) are open note and open book and homework is due every week (but it is very easy), you have to do a ten page paper at the end of the semester but it's on a topic of your choice. Believe me it is really worth your time to take this class.
