I took his course for last semester. I will agree with a lot of the poeple he is very kind, patient, and slow so that everyone understands. The only complain that I have of him is his time management. He has a wife that is always needing some type of medical attention so expect him to cancel a week's class at least. A lot of times he does now know when this will happen so the midterm will end up later than it should be, so we end up with too much material to study for. His homework is VERy hard and worth a lot of points. they can really help if u do well. and the final is comprehensive.
I like his personality but his time management needs a bit of change.

This class was a scary time for me. Even tho I got a B, I had to work like hell for it. This teacher is a grad student and seems to lack interest in anything other than getting her degree and she was teaching the class because she had to.
Let me explain - this teacher gave homework and lots of it which is good because pre-calc is not an easy course. A few different disciplines are covered such as algebra, trig and geometry. Cool. This also means that helping people integrate this knowlegdge is going to be challenging.
However, the amount of points she would take off and the comments that she would write on the homework about style were rather severe and the comments condescending - I finally started handing in 10 page homework assignments because in order to get full credit I had to explain to her step by step what I was doing. I wouldn't have minded if she had pulled me aside and nicely told me that she couldn't understand my work instead of writing rude comments on my homework (some of which she would cross out once she understood but I could still read them) ... but that is the way she is. I also started having a tutor check my homework before I handed it in to make sure I would get full credit.
She also had problems controlling her temper. Cell phones are a annoyance in every class and she went OFF on a student who answered her phone in class (which another student had done a week before DURING AN EXAM and she didn't say anything to her!!) I heard she apologized to the class the next time but it still didn't matter - she frequently lost her temper and flipped out for something or other, a repeated question, a challenge from the class.
Finally - In order to get full credit for the homework you had to go to her office hours and get more of her impatience with you. She took off way too many points so I had to take it up with her in class - which did raise my grade. I had a big problem liking this teacher since she obviously had a big problem teaching people, which is a shame since that is her JOB. Her tests were fair, her teaching style was adequate, but I do not recommend her to anyone who would potentially need to come into direct contact with her.
