Interesting guy & fun class

I'm not sure why someone would say this teacher is not a fair grader. As an undergrad and someone sort of new to the philosophical texts, I still did very well on his exams. There is only a midterm and a final (take home), and if you pay attention in class, they are very easy. The reading is reasonable too. I also find him very understanding and also fun to watch. He's a crack-up! I think his lectures can be a little long, but they are very good and he does encourage class participation. I had fun in the class, I learned a lot and I think he is a great professor and a very nice person.

This teacher is insane

this teacher sucks to the max. he just thinks because he has a phd in german( such a nonsense) he try to grade hard and fuck students up. german is anyway an irrelevant major and getting something lower than A is such stupid insanity. what can u do with a german major anyway, my friend is at USC and he is studying computational biology PHd program,he get B, which later makes so much money biotech and informatik. i just wish langbehen would stay in germany, unless she grades fair...

Exciting and interesting professor

As someone who has studied various languages and studied under lots of boring teachers, Prof. Langbehn has made language learning a joy. I look forward to coming to his classes everyday (not only, as previously mentioned, because he is so hot) but because he takes an active approach to language education. The course is varied with a combination of lectures on grammar, group projects, videos, web research, etc. From the beginning he also encourages his students to explore other sources of information. He is always available for his students and ready to clarify any questions. One of the best language courses I've taken.

Fun, entertaining, brilliant and fair.

I had Herr Langbehn Spring 2003. He is an absolute ham who is wonderfully entertaining. He speaks concisely, is great looking, incites zeal into the class and students and is very compassionate and fair. There is plenty of work to do, but this is a foreign language...hello! He is more than happy to receive students for help and assistance and follows the syllabus TO THE LETTER! so, NO SURPRISES. You can be up front with him and ask questions and feel treated as an equal, not a student. But the fact is, he is the Professor and not a classmate! So, take his classes, enjoy the show he puts on, study and work hard if you want to learn and you wikll not be disappointed. He makes the learning fun!
