I'm not really an easy-going person, in fact I'm pretty high-strung and a little obsessive about school myself, but even I think this girl needs to get a life. She's a new teacher and is baldly ambitious, an obvious workaholic, and apparently expects her students to spend 5 units' worth of time doing all the extra busy-work she gives, for a 3-unit class. She also was a stickler for certain details which seemed neither important nor relevant to her class. She IS extremely organized, and earnest, and in some ways her teaching is pretty good and thorough, though she doesn't seem to understand students' questions sometimes, and so doesn't give satisfying answers. Perhaps when she has done it longer, she will relax, which can only make her a better teacher. We were always wishing she would get a massage or a puppy or a boyfriend or a girlfriend or SOMETHING so she could loosen up a little. If you're going to be in the French Department, it will be hard to avoid her, but try to take classes from Mme. Laden instead - a much more relaxed, pleasant, and experienced teacher. Better yet, if they have finally come to their senses and hired Christiane Gauthier again (she filled in when Mme. Pereet was on sabbatical,) take her. She's the best French teacher you'll ever have.
