Even though this teacher is easy, Mr. Le really sucks. He has really bad accent which makes it really hard to understand the lectures if you're just trying to interpret what he is saying. His accent is not the problem though, it is the way he lectures, he is very disorganized and scattered in his lectures which makes it very hard and confusing to follow along. Eventually, the class becomes very boring. Overall, the teacher is easy but ineffective.

Dr. Le isn't that bad of a teacher as most reviewers portray. Basically, he lectures straight from the book, so you can just read the book and pass this class. He talks a litle bit too fast to understand but he is always opened for any questions. He's probably not the best economics teacher, but at least you can. He is very generous about the quizzes and assigning lots of extra credit. My only concern is for him to teach the material how he was taught. If you want an easy B or non-economics major, take this teacher. Don't take this teacher if your really want to learn economics or you are an economics major.
Good points: -lecture follow the book -quizzes are straight out of the book -extra credit -fair grading policy -multiple choice exams -lenient -helps you
Negative point: -can be hard to understand at times

When I read the review about professor Le, I did not want to take him but I had to for schedule conflicts. He has an accent that makes students very difficult to understand his lectures. He gives weekly quizzes that are very easy. But his exams are pretty tough, class average is always like a 68. However, he gives SO MANY extra credit, you can pass his class with a D average on his exams. This guy seems very into the subject, and unlike some teachers, he teaches with interest atleast. As long you score high on quizzes and do the extra credit, you won't have a problem.

I took this class on my first semester at SFSU. I regret for not checking TeacherReviews.com before deciding. Do not take any class that is taught by him. You won't learn a thing. You won't even understand what he is talking. I didn't learn anything and always take the exams without studying. Fortunately, I passed all. Mostly C. The good thing is that he gives lots of extra credits. So overall, I would not recommend taking his class!!!

Beware of Professor Le!
*He is very difficult to understand because his accent is so heavy. Although his tests are extremely hard, his weekly quizzes are EASY (based on the questions at the end of the chapter) *THe only good thing about Le is that he offers tons of extra credit (i guess that's how i passed) If you want to protect your GPA (like me), then take this class for CR/NCR.

Q. Le isn't the best teacher out there, but he's also not that bad. He has a HUGE accent which makes the lectures hard to understand, but if you actually go to class, you don't really need to listen to him talk. He pretty much just reads the lectures from his notes on the projection. So either copy the notes, or highlight whatever is on the screen in u'r book. If you don't go to class, then read the book. Furthermore, if you take/highlight notes or read, the tests really aren't that hard to pass. He always give extra credit to bring your test scores up (ie. i'd get a 60/100 on a test, but my overall test grade w/extra credit would be an 80/100). In addition, his quizzes are EASY!!! They're straight the questions from the book. He even tells you which questions will possibly be on the quiz, then choses one of them! I thought it'd be impossible to pass the class in the beginning and didn't really care, till I realized later in the semester that he's an easy teacher. FOr the first half of the semester, I rarely went class, failed most of the quizzes and still managed to get a B.

i try to be as nice as i can when giving reviews for any teacher, but i just cant be nice with professor le. the first day of class i knew that i would not do well. his strong accent makes it pretty hard to understand what he's saying most of the time. his lectures are basically straight out of the book. i dont think he cares to explain anything that he lectures about so his students could understand WHAT THE HECK HES TALKING ABOUT. i'm sure he's a smart guy but his teaching skills are NOT that great. the thing that i hated the most about him is how he always says "just come to my office hours" if you have a question about anything. and another thing, he has no personality at all!! i think the only thing that i liked about this class was the extra credit. if you want to waste your time and bring your GPA down, just take this class. if you want to actually learn something, choose another teacher.

ok... to make it short and simple... Le is the worst teacher. you won't learn anything becasue he teaches from the book, his lectures are from the power point material that came with the book so he doesn't make the material easier. his extra credit is nice... considering that he's giving alot of it now. but i think it's for good reason if over half the class is is not passing. he shouldn't be a teacher, it seems like he has a stick up his a## half the time... he's moody and he doesn't want to give u help... he immeditly says that we should just go to a tutor and get help from them.

Here are the pros and cons on Dr. Quan Le:
PROS: *Gives out a lot of extra credit. *Quizzes are based on the problems from the end of the chapter.
CONS: *Very mean attitude *Makes you feel stupid whenever you ask him a question. *Can't ask him an individual question during class even if it's just going to last a minute. He wants you to waste your time during his office hours. *Lectures are very boring. *A huge accent which makes him sound like gibberish. *Has his teaching assistants grade all the work and most of the time they mark errors because they are confused, not because they are wrong.
Dr. Le really gave me a bad impression. He worries about his students not doing well and keeps mentioning to his students that they should go to his office hours if they need help, and when they do, he refuses to give any. In exchange of putting your time to go to his office, he just says to read the book, learn the material on your own, and stop bugging him for answers, making you just waste your time. Now itz understandable why the majority of the students are not doing so well. I mean, professors have office hours because they want to give individual help to those students who need it and make the effort to receive it. I just find that unbelieveable that Dr. Le refuses to do such a thing. Why is there a teacher like him here is SFSU? He really needs to get fired quickly because he is really inconsiderate to his students.
