Dr.LeGates is very kind professor. If I were to grade him on personality alone he would get an A. Unfortunately, though, I can't recommend him to anyone who doesn't have a strong attention span. Unless you are willing to sit at the front of the class and be 120% attentive, you will not do well. He has a tendency to mumble and stray from the subject at hand. Taping his lectures may be an option but again, you must have a good attention span. Dr. LeGates's tests are mainly from lecture, some from reading. But again, he is a very approachable professor who is extremely knowledgeable about his field.

Prof. LeGates has an enthusiasm for and interest in the material that is infectious. While some of the reading is dry and difficult to consume, much of it is quite compelling, and this seems to be what he tests on. The tests are fair and representative of what is to be learned in the class, and the papers are interesting to research and write. All in all, a worthwhile class. The main drawback is Prof. LeGates' habit of mumbling the ends of his sentences, often making it difficult to get a portion of his lectures.
