MGMT 610? Take him over the summer!!!

You'll work like a DOG if you take him over the summer, trying to work on the team project/presentation, but since it'll be over the summer session, it'll be done in no time! This may or may not work for you if have part-time job and are taking another class in the same session (like 2 or 3 classes in R1, for example).

If you do take this class in the summer (presumably in R1), make sure you take nothing else until the R2 or R3.

If you take him over spring or fall, oh man... you'll just be putting off the inevitable and have more time to suffer. You may have more time to complete the project, but MOST LIKELY, your teammates will also slack off and procrastinate as well. That is the risk you'll have to face.

You're pretty much in the same boat as everyone, trying to meet the same requirements/demands...*cough*.... so it shouldn't be too hard to find a group to join for the "big" presentation/project at the end.

The 2 tests are straight forward, mostly out of the book, and some from lecture. I don't recall if we had a video case or not.... but if he throws one in, just jot down a few notes from it. (no final exam if the majority of the class does okay on the first two tests). DO THE READING... no, he doesn't call on people as much as other professors.... but the tests are like 80-85% from the book. There's also no written homework so you'll have time to do the reading. Heck... in order to do the "BIG" project, you'll rely mostly on the textbook anyway. All-in-all, it all falls into place if you do your part.

Another thing about the team project is that the teams are SELF-MANAGED. In other words, Leder will take no part in how the teams are managed. If you don't like your team, try to find another team RIGHT AWAY and EARLY in the semester. My team was pretty good and fair about dividing the work and even served as a decent online study group (on Yahoo! Groups).

Leder is also the -ONLY- teacher who teaches this class (he said so). So, if you take him, DO NOT DROP the class in the middle of the semester or else he will make sure you can never take the class again (he also said so). If you go on the first day and decide to drop, that'll be fine... he says it's only fair to the other people on the waiting list who are absolutely CERTAIN they want to take him (again, he also said so).

Other than that he's a fairly fun teacher and very welcoming to questions and input regarding the lecture material. Just don't get too carried away with unrelated/personal material or comments. Keep it professional, have fun on the project, and make it memorable!!!

Take him only if you know how to kiss ass

The title of this review might seem negative but it really depends on who you are. If you know how to kiss ass and laugh at every corny corporate jokes he makes, that's the man for you. He really believes the students really like him when they do that. although he doesn't pick on anyone he has his favorite students. He is really maticulous and knows the subject. But I found him a little too cocky for a short guy ( what a suprise?).;fortunately I am one of those guys who can kiss ass if I have to, so I did, I got good grade. Overall his subject is really borring, I don't think that is his fault though. His 2 exams are fair. And one big presentation.

Only teacher ... a great one!

He knows his stuff! 1 midterm & 1 final, 1 group presentation and thats your grade. His exams are essay based on questions given in advance. For example, gives 15 questions, class will randomly pick 4 of them. Straight forward class. You dont even need to buy the book, will I never did!

Awesome guy

Being that State currently only offers one 610 course with one professor, consider yourself lucky that someone like Leder is teaching it, and another one of those cranky SFSU Tenure professors everyone knows and dreads.

Basically its a course with 10 other people in your group which is supposed to present a case about a company and its human resources. He made us do two tests with 4 questions per test. Its supposed to be 5 but he makes it easy for students by allowing them to pick the questions in an envelope. To get the freebie, have someone pick the BIGGEST paper in the envelope. No final because the class got along well with him so he canceled it.

I made alot of good friends in this class, and the fact that Leder is entertaining and easygoing with his students made the class really enjoyable.

Either Him or Short For This Class

Exams: There are two exams. Based on the 30+ questions he handed out before the exams. Handwriting: Terrible Homework: None. That's why I gave him an A. Lectures: This guy is very selective. He picks out a handful of students to talk to throughout the semester. Projects: Took up most of my class time. Your grade depends on the

A very good professor.

This is the man if you want to take MGMT610. Overall, a nice guy and easy going. His class is very entertaining, it's not one of your typical boring SFSU class. Professor Leder is very energetic and his lectures are very informing. Overall, a very good professor, someone who likes to teach. He is a very fair grader so don't worry about getting a bad grade. Do your work and you'll get the reward at the end. Nothing but good things to say about this guy, also considering he has a full time day job to go too. I am amaze he brings so much energy to his Monday night mgmt610 class. Keep up the good work Professor Leder!
