I disagree with the attitude the previous reviewers perceive Matt to have towards his students. In my KIN 482 class, he was open to questions and light discussion even though it was a lecture-based setup. He might seem strict, but I think he is just very organized and wants to keep on track, as this leaves less room for error on his part to assure less confusion for the students. That's how it seems to me, at least.
Anyway, I enjoyed his class, even though it was pretty difficult. There are pop quizzes about 6-7 times throughout the semester (M/W schedule), but you can sort of expect when you will get them, and with the material from this course you have to keep up anyway or you will become very confused in following lectures, as he will refer to previous concepts to build upon new ones. The exams are hard as well, but his lecture and powerpoint presentation cover the material completely -- the required text was basically unnecessary except maybe to reference for the lab.
I wish there were more teachers like Matt. I think the difficulty of his course can be misinterpretted as him being a difficult teacher, but he really does an excellent job at explaining very complicated material.

Lee is kinda a guy who talks at you. I think he has issues with dealing with certain ethnicities also. Maybe gender biased too. He won't look at you in the eyes and seems nervous and figidy. Hard guy to talk to sometimes outside of him asking questions and you answering. Kind of a serious guy in terms of being strict. Sense of humor isn't bad though. Speaks loudly and to the point. Doesn't make it too complicated to learn the material. He takes roll which is kinda gay. Homework is reading and one research paper. 3 test which are pretty straight forward, except when he asks questions about numbers. Numbers aren't concepts, it is strict memorization which is useless. Example: "what is the recommended heart rate for training?" and there are 4 choices: a)55% b)60% c)65% d)70% , this question doesn't test anything but how well you are at memorization.
Besides that, teacher isn't too bad. Kinda young to be teaching instead of getting some real world experience. Those who can't do teach is true alot of times.

Matt needs to loosen up. He is very self-concious when he lectures, and won't make eye-contact with students.
He comes across very unenthused about the subject matter, and really doesn't do enough to rescue the course from the reality of rote memorization out of the ACSM book.
And quit laughing at the students! Although I can't blame him, because we were often doing stupid stuff in lab.
Realize, Matt--you are a real teacher! And you already have respect from students, so don't worry about it. Just try to have fun and engage the class a bit more.
