While Mr. Leonard was really a nice man and I really wanted to enjoy the class, it just wasn't planned out well. He seemed to be very confused on the facts, often making comments contradicting the book without clarification. It was clear he wasn't reading what we were as students. After quite a few mess ups on facts students actually started hauling the huge behemoth of a book to point out where the details conflicted. His lectures were very confused, tests were very confused and nobody did well on them. Overall wouldn't take him again.

Leonard is very enthusiastic about the material that said the class in horrible. He has a rambling lecture style which is hard to follow and even harder to figure out what he want you to know. He assigns reading that he ties in no way to what he is talking about. The only assignments in the class are a midterm and final because quote, "There are two many students in the class to grade any more assignment." I think this shows his entire attitude towards teaching. He is not open to any suggestion that might improve the class. The material on the tests in obscure and does not seem to relate to his lectures. On the first midterm the highest grade was a C+ so all the scores had to be curved. I received a B- but only got 60 out of the possible 100 points. He obviously isn't getting the material across. If you are planning to take Art History choose another professor.
