Greg Magie

I've had Dr. Magie for for three semesters and his conducting has never improved. The grades above are based on orchestra and also MUS 232, Diatonic Music, since i wasn't able to select both classes. As a person he is very approachable. As a lecturer he SUCKS! You'd be better off reading about the structure of music on your own. For homework, they're all dittos from the textbook workbork and his tests are mostly from the book with a bach piece to analyze. i'd be cautious when taking him, and avoid taking him if possible.

Dr. Magie's teaching skills are unbelivebly bad. He does not understand what he's teaching and he doesn't understand how to teach. The biggest problem I've had with him, though, is that he sexually harasses women in his classes. He leers, makes comments about women's bodies and befriends some men in the classes and then snickers with them about the women. I wish that the review board would read the teacher evaluations that he has so they can see how horrible he is! As it is, though, nothing has happened, so I warn the women who were thinking of taking this class to beware--we've got a pervert on our hands.
