John Marcovici

Professor Marcovici is amazing. I was sure that my speech class was going to be challenging and boring, but he has made it one of my favorite classes. He gives enough time to work on speeches, and is always there to offer advice and help. He is funny, friendly, and enthusiastic. He grades speeches in a timely manner. He is down to earth and communicates with us as if he were a fellow student. As long as you study for the midterm and final, and put enough effort into giving effective speeches, you will enjoy this class and do well in it. Marcovici makes learning speech interesting.

i hate public speaking but he did icebreakers in class. he was chill and was humorous (probably because he's a young guy who half the girls thought was 'hot'). he gives extra credit on the quizes (which are super easy if u read the 10-15pages). isn't a hard grader on speeches. i dislike MOST of the teachers at SFState, but Marcovici is good!! only sucky thing was attendance he counts and don't be late after 3times or your grade goes down half a grade (like "A" to "A-" each time after 3x)

I had him for summer class and he was okay. I've seen better speakers than him but he's okay for a teacher. He also gave us enough time to do our speeches and he respond quickly when u email him ur assignments for feedback.

John is a really cool guy! Class isn't hard. Tests are multiple choice. Learning is fun and easy. He tells random stories, and really has fun with everyone. He really knows what he's talking about, and doesn't teach in a boring way. I highly recommend him to anyone who has to take speech

John is absolutely great. I am one of those people who hates speaking up in front of people, but John makes this fear alleviate by creating a comfortable classroom environment. His class consists of 5 presentations and 4 exams (he only counts your top 3 scores as part of your final grade). The exams are very easy if you read the textbook and the speeches are alright if you follow his criteria. Also, if you mess up on a speech, he doesn't let that ruin your grade drastically. Therefore, if anybody needs to fulfill that GE oral communication requirement, John is the teacher to take.

John is a really great teacher. He creates a very comfortable classroom atmosphere and tries to engage everyone into discussions. He has a great sense of humor, and his review sheets make preparing for the quizzes really easy. He's not too sore on the eyes, either.

John is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's really charismatic and creates a really comfortable classroom environment that's really necessary for some people when they speak in front of 30 strangers. He's also very intelligent and, although we sometimes got off topic, has something interesting to say at all times. He grades very fairly and his tests (we only had 2) are easy, as long as you know your stuff. I heavily reocmmend him to anyone that has to take this class...he makes it easy and fun.

John is awesome. He is a very nice guy, and his class was great. I learned a great deal about rhetoric and communication criticism, and it was all very fascinating. He makes it very easy to do well. Just do the reading and refer to the textbook a lot when you write your papers. John was always very helpful whenever I had questions about assignments. I highly recommend taking his class.

John is one of the best teachers I've had!! He's really a cool guy and makes the class fun by adding humor. We only had to give 3 speeches and he gives you extra credit if you come to every class. If you mess up in a middle of a speech he gives you a chance to earn your grade and doesn't fail you right off the bat. I would recomend John to anyone planning on taking a speech class, he's just a grest teacher all around!
