Maynor's American Indians in the Media class had to be one of the more off the wall, and yet entertaining classes I've taken here at State. As a person she is very accomplished; having attended both Harvard and Stanford, as well as being an independent filmmaker along with teaching this class. The class subject seems to get a little repetious after awhile, especially in a three hour session, but she tries her best to incorporate new ways of looking a the the same subject. The work load is pretty kick back, she's still young and knows that students have busy schedules. Don't skip, do the papers on time, and skim the readings and you're all good.

Prof. Maynor is a young, refreshing, and interesing teacher. Her lectures, while being a little redundant, tended to be interesting and the topics addressed definitely opened my eyes to aspects of the media that I had not seen before. Her class was not very difficult and there was little homework. We had several projects. She has the fervor of a student fresh from a Berkely grad school. It's nice to have had a professor that wasn't over 40. Maynor is also very up to date on current events in American Indian Studies. AIS 235 with Maynor is an enjoyable class.
