MGMT 832 is a class I would recommend to anyone who wants to see what the 'Best' of SFSU's MBA Program has to offer.
Rich McCline is a grounded, real-world (READ: not Ivory Tower Academic) teacher who pulls very few punches. His lectures are entertaining, informative and delivered with passion. His gift is public speaking (just give him a topic and watch him riff), and this comes through expertly in MGMT 832.
One caveat-- Grading is a bizarre mix of personal taste-- There's one test graded on a curve, a few take home assignments that are 'checked' and a group project. Word to the wise- the syllabus will not be an appropriate guide. I received a B+ and was somewhat miffed...?

I highly recommend this teacher and this class. The lectures are top notch. The class is very demanding so stay away unless you're willing to work hard. You'll have at least 100 pages of reading per week, weekly writing and homework, and multiple projects to work on simultaneously.

This is an outstanding class! I really enjoyed the lectures and the class experience added a lot to my business education. I was puzzled by my grade though. My performance was A level (and indicated as such) throughout the class but I got a B+. I surveyed four other people in the class who had exactly the same experience so it's not an anomaly. Don't take this class if you need or expect an A. The grading appears to have an arbitrary component that is not related to the declared method of grading in the syllabus. Not a big deal and not improper of course, just something to be aware of with this professor (rrR).
