Pr. Nathan is one of the best teachers I've ever had at SFSU. His lectures are never boring, because it was easy to recognize his interest and passion in the subject that he teached. There were three short books for the class, and we also had one midterm, a reaserch paper, and a final. He doesn't grade easy, although a student who attends every lecture and pays attention in class will do well. I would recommend Pr.Nathan to anyone.

Nathan is a rock-solid good professor. He's probably the best organized I've run across. His lectures are fast-paced, engaging, and packed with notable info. He knows what he's doing. Expect several pages of feedback for each paper - (this is a good thing). Although Nathan's lectures are a bit dry and subtle, the real fun comes out in an almost carnivalesque climax at the end of each class, when he tends to 'lose it' and drop some serious opinion, usually very funny.

However, be warned, you absolutely have to talk in class - and must pay attention, or he'll call on you. Rumor has it that he may retire soon?, so take a class with him soon.
