Bill Nichols

Bill Nichols is a man people look up to. I took his class and by the end of it, I was seriously considering approaching him and asking if he would be my personal mentor. The readings in this class were incredible: everything from Frued to Marx to Buber to Hitler. Nichols focused my particular class around love and so we discussed the films in relation to theories of love. I'd never studied film like that, and I really got a lot out of it. I saw him in his office hours once and he wasn't as personable as I might have liked, but honestly, his class is great. I was gonna rag on him in this review just because it does kind of make me sick the way everyone reveres him like a god, but if I can be frank with you, and I think I can... Take Nichols.
