Let's just say his wandering eye, hands, and filthy words (outside of class to those of opposite gender) do not always relate positively to his conceptions of "noble" living for "black" people. Don't allow your mind to be blocked - seek enlightenment elsewhere. Ironic how the class is to discuss violence and negation of black peoples (women, men, and children), and how he practices a form of violence. I had to post A's to get this post to be see- "A" for asshole

Dr. Nobles is one of the best teachers in SF State. In this particular class he is knowledgeable, well versed, and educated on the issues surrounding the Black Families. He gives an overall background on Black Families, discusses his own studies and its application to Black Families, and allows ample space for participation. He is cleaver and has a sense of humor. I enjoy his class and his teaching method.

As the title says, this class is completly unorganized. It's an online class, so there is little or no contact with the professor. While this would be fine if the professor fully utilized email, but it takes Nobles a week or more to reply to them, if he bothers to reply at all. He also does not bother to reply to phone messages, and does not even have much contact with the department.
Class assignments are a mess, students get no notifcation of what's going on in the class. Avoid this class at all costs, it's not worth the stress.

Brilliant professor and undoubtedly one of the best to ever teach at San Francisco State University, of national and international significance. He teaches like no one you probably have ever experienced before, truly academic and brave and courageous in every respect of the words. The opportunity and experience to learn at times can be extremely difficult and also most rewarding. One of the all-time greats in academia, undoubtedly.
