Professor Park is very professional. Although I am sure not many of us enjoy accounting, Mr. Park tries his best to make sure the students understand the material. "Do you understand what I am saying?" is a common question he asks. The class consists of 400 points: three tests (100 pts. each), six quizzes (10 pts. each), and 40 attainable attendence points. I am sure he grades on the curve because I know some of the people in the class didn't do too well on the tests, including myself, and they happened to pass the class. A few people dropped the class after he told us our mid-term grades. Hang in there though, he does grade generously towards the end. I had a C- for mid-term and happened to pull a B- for my final grade. I highly recommend Mr. Park for managerial accounting.

"Do you understand what i'm saying"- This is a quote you'll hear Professor Park say constantly throughout the semester. I graded Professor Park poorly because for a man that has two Masters degrees, I would expect him to have almost perfect English.
Now for my Gripes! Although I believe he knows his shit, he should really check what type of students are in his class-He made quizzez and the Midterm very challenging even for Accounting majors. There were probably 4 Acct Majors in our class and he had the nerve, after the Mid-term, to tell us he thought our class was all accounting majors. Bad timing pal. Another thing, we had quizzez every week because he had to attend a conference in the East Coast that affected our class schedule. On our last class before the final, this teacher did not let the class know what would be on the final. After class had ended, 2 students asked him what was on the final and he obliged by giving those students a heads up. I do feel extremely sorry for those in the class who did not get information on the final. Thanks Professor Park!!!.."DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I AMD SAYIN?"

Park is not difficult at all, if you take good notes and go to classes.
He has all these chapter summaries that you'd download from his website (in my opinion, you may not even need the textbook), plus the study guides before exams. I didn't study until right before the exams, and it's not a problem getting 85%+.
He does speak with a little accent and sometimes may not understand students' questions fully. However, I do see that he cares that students learn from this class, and his personality isn't bad.

Dr. Park cared if students were successful in class. He went through the trouble of handing out a study sheet before each test which showed the subject matter to focus on for the upcoming exam. There were 3 exams in the class. They were very detailed oriented. So you really need to take good notes in class in addition to the notes that you print off of his web site. This instructor is from Korea originally and does speak with an accent, but understanding him was not a problem.

I definetely do not agree with the earlier student's review about Prof. Park's lecture. To me, Prof. Park's class has been a great experience. The subject is not easy to understand, but his lecture notes are clear and neat in helping me to study and understand the material. He also hand out a study review before an exam and the hand outs are helpful to study for the exams/final. He's also a friendly professor and willing to help you out. I would recommend you to take his class because his lecture notes are just the best. As long as you study, and listen to him, you won't be having trouble getting a good grade.

Park's class was the most boring class I've ever had to sit through. I was looking for the exits after I'd been there for about 5 minutes. Not only was it about impossible to understand what he was saying because of his accent, he was extremely repetitive, going over the same material several times. I'm also appalled that he uses so much paper. He hands out all of his stupid notes typed up in packets that are 10-15 pages and you get 1 or 2 of these each class. Then he writes all of it on the chalkboard. I would have much rather copied it down to have something to do. If you care about learning accounting at all I would not suggest taking his class. If you just want an easy A, then definitely take him, but you won't remember any of it later on.

Dr. Park is a good instructor. However, the class content is extremely boring. I don't even think he is interested in Acct Information Systems. He does *try* to involve the class by giving examples but it's really hard.
No homework is assigned. I didn't even open the book and it isn't necessary to buy it.
We had a few little projects that involved using this really lame excel book and Dr. Park said he probably wouldn't be using it next semester because it was so bad.
An oral presentation on any AIS subject was assigned. You could either work alone or in a group. The presentations were awful and I don't understand how these people passed Speech 150. I'm not sure if Dr. Park gave poor marks for these speeches but he seemed interested and didn't interrupt anyone and tell them they were doing a terrible job (I think he should have).
Dr. Park would be best suited to teach another accounting course. He seems to be a decent professor but it's hard for me to evaluate based on the terrible course subject.
