I can't speak to anyone else's experience since I have only taken Dr. Pelletier's online class. I found the teacher to be extremely helpful, she went out of her way whenever she could to answer any questions I had. The topic is definitely an easy one but the tests were a bit hard. I highly recommend using the on-line practice tests and make notes for the test from the test outline. One thing I have noticed in this and other classes - the multiple choice questions are often direct quotes from the text. I highly recommend this teacher.

She is a very easy professor to take. Don't bother buying the $100 book- it's a waste of money! Get the power point slides to study off of. Some of the questions on the tests are not very straight forward- no, getting the book won't help, neither wil studying or going to class- you'll just have to deal with it. Pelletier's lectures are mixed with examples- most of which are not on the tests. The professor is very dry- border line boring. My advice is to study the power point slides and you'll get at least a B.

PELLETIER WAS NOT THE BEST TEACHER I HAD CHOSEN LAST SEMESTER. I WAS STRUGGLING WITH HER TESTS (GOT MOSTLY C'S). HORRIBLE LECTURES WITH A FRENCH ACCENT ON TOP OF IT. I MUST ADMIT THAT THE LADY SEEMS TO BE A VERY NICE PERSON BUT, WHEN IT COMES TO TEACHING...I AM SORRY, SHE'S DREADFUL. I HAD TO STRUGGLE THROUGHOUT HER LECTURES AND I DID ALMOST GIVE UP ON GETTING A GOOD GRADE. I DID FINISH HER CLASS WITH A "B" BUT TRUST ME IT WAS A VERY PAINFUL CLASS TO ATTEND.

Prof. Pelletier is a exceptional Mgmt 405 teacher. I don't think her lectures are boring or useless. In fact, she gives you a lot of the info on the test in her lectures. She gives you a preview of the questions on her website which is very helpful. My suggestion is this: when she gives you the questions, write the answers down & study off your answers. This class is not stressful unless you make it & don't try. Just keep up the work & you'll be absolutely fine, trust me.

You don't need to go to her class. 90% of her exam questions are on the slides which can be downloaded on her website. The only benefit of going to her class is the extra advice she gives you on management plus the opportunity to laugh at her accent and french attitude. Find her old test through any means neccessary! Her tests are confusing and your best bet is getting those old tests so you can ace the class.

Easy class. If your enrolled just to get the grade then don't bother attending class. She is interesting to listen to and the more often you attend the more you get used to her accent. Wait to study for exams the week before the test when she posts review questions on the internet. All 3 of her exams are weighted equally with with about 20% extra credit. If you can answer the review questions successfully using the book then you will ace the course!

I think Dr. Pelletier is highly efficient and effective. She is the very definition of Management. Lively, story telling, funny, and very friendly. I will definitely take her again for BUS690--counting the days!!! As far as grading is concerned, she is extremely fair. There is plenty of opportunity to receive extra credit and to end up with an A. I actually cannot see ANYone getting below an A. Marvelous instruction, teaching at its best!!!

talk about annoying! her voice is shrill, high pitched and BOOSTED ON THE SPEAKERS. dont worry about falling asleep in class there is no way that is possible, unless you plug your ears with 10 pounds of concrete. Also, 1/5 pages on her power point presentation is not availble in the workbook. That is particularly annoying. If you have ever tried to speak to her in person, she will not smile at you or even seem glad to see you. She is the most unapproahable teaher i have had here. I feel like im in kindergarten/prison. soory im venting but that is the way i feel. In the PROFESSIONAL world of buisness (known as the REAL world) that attiduted towards clients (student) would not be tolerated. See i did learn something thought. Her class is like an institution. trust me youll see... ALso her student assitants ( i call them cronies) dont appear that happy to talk to you either. Try is its a game! then report back to here and let others see what you think. hey dont take it personally! im just saying what i feel, observe, and think. OK you want to know how i feel on the teaching criteria? THere is nothing in this class taught, they any normal person does not allready know. This is common sense subject! all she does is attach names and definitions to the common practices done around the planet. get real. im out of here. tell me what you think!!!!!!!!!

This is a good class if you do not like going to class, taking notes, or studying too hard. Her tests are easy if you study the guide she gives you a week or so in advance of the tests. All the questions are right there. She also give lots of extra credit questions on the exam. By the last exam, I needed a D in order to get an A in the class. She makes this class easy.

You really don't need to go to the class.... She's been giving the same tests since she started working here... I can't say I learned a lot, but I got an A! Just read your reader and find someone with copies of the old exam and your good to go! I recommend this class to people who like not showing up until the day of the exam....

Her accent make the class discussion abit hard to understand. If you want to undetstand what she is saying, sit closer to the front of the auditorium. The course material was rather easy to understand, basic common sense on the most part, but you have to study the reading. There are not surprise questions on the exam and ther have been so many occasions where I have said to myself, "I know that answer", but can't decide between two options. Make sure you have a copy of her overhead, if you don't want to pay $10 for it(not worth it), then make a copy from someone elses. She taught this course for years and years, she knows what she's taking about. Take the time and read the book, maybe make a review sheet. As long as you read the material once, you'll pass the course, no problem.

The teacher does have a very thick accent, but I got used to it after awhile. Her exams were fairly easy, as long as you studied the study review which is posted 1-2 weeks before the exam date. In addition, the study review had a lot of concepts, definitions, etc. for me to memorize, but it was ok, compared to other teachers who give me no review for exams. There were about 60 questions for each exam and you could get 20 wrong on an exam and still get an A on it because she gives extra credit. There were three exams total. You shouldn't have any problems getting a passing grade in this class.

This instructor does not have a lot to offer in the ways of management. She's never apparently been a manager herself, and to add to this (as other students have mentioned), she only shares the experiences of others to move her lecture around. Her class is taught in the largest theater on campus, so paying attention is quite difficult. Her accent (French) is very thick, and makes it difficult to understand her lecture. She spends a great deal of class time figiting with her A/V equipment, yelling at her assistants, and telling the class about her wonderful daughter. Ugh. Stuff I could do without at 8:00 in the morning. To add insult to injury, she makes it painfully clear that her class starts at 8, not 8:10. If you wish to avoid public humiliation, you better be there on time! She's an okay instructor. Just buy the book (and get the stuff from her web site) and don't sweat it.

Like the review that follows mine, I also received an A in her class so I'm not bitter about a bad grade. But is is totally apparent that she doesn't know much about the topic because she's never really gone out to get a job in the business world like many of my other past instructors have. This is why she speaks of other people's experiences on the outside rather than her own. She taught straight from the book so it's kind of helpful to buy the darn thing. I'd say no book could give u a chance for a B but nothing more. THen again, I didn't really attend class much or when I did, I'd struggle to stay awake. But her class is relatively easy as long as u read over material on her review topics for exams.

Let me first say that I recieved an A in the class so people don't think I am bashing her because of a grade. From the very start of the semester it was clear that she has no actual experience with the subject matter. She has only worked in academia. The lectures are boring and do not expand on the provided materials more than extensive personal stories about her childhood and her daughter (painfully boring). I feel that I could have missed every class and still received the same grade by reading the study topics and the course notes. That said I think she is a nice person, but not qualified to lecture the class.

Ignoring her French accents(especially difficult for me as a ESL student). She is a good & experience teacher. The materials are well organized. There are review notes on the web site that tell you what will be in the exam everytime---so I never go thru the whole book, just read what will be in the exam, and concentrate in the class. Then I will just need 2 nights to study for the most. She tells some jokes too, and has a good effect. But remember, as one of the reviewer said, go pick a seat upfront, if you don't wanna fall asleep.

I really enjoyed Prof. Pelletier's class. Sure, she comes off as a bit harsh on the first day of class (and don't bother coming if you're more than 10 minutes late -- they won't let you in), and you do have to make sense of her French accent, but once you adjust to these relatively minor issues, it's a great class. The lectures are organized and interesting, and she actually manages to encourage some class participation in a class of 700. There's a lot of material to cover, but the exams are fair and there's extra credit available on every exam, as well as through workshops. My primary issue was with the exams: on each exam, there were a few questions (only a few, fortunately) that were indecipherable. I knew the material quite well, and the questions just didn't make any sense, or there was more than one correct answer, or she defined things differently than the text -- and both definitions were option. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend her.

Pelletier is an okay teacher. She is very strict on her tardiness and grading, but the workshops can bring up your grade somewhat. She won't let you in after a certain time. She grades on a straight grading scale 90+ is an A and she won't give you any leeway (89 is a B, not a B+).The course has a lot of reading, the lecture notes and the book. The only problem is if you sit in the back, you can't help but fall asleep. Her sense of humor is what people would call "acquired".

I think the professor lectures were alright. What I didn't like were the tests... the first one was ok; and, she was right... she told us to concentrate our study the lecture notes and just look through our book. That was ok because the test was actually geared towards the lectures. For the second examshe told us to do the same thing, however, she drew most of the questions from the book... and the final wasn'ta good experience either. I would not mind studying all the material, but if an instructor says he/she is concentrating on lecture notes,I rather spend my time in learning the notes well... Another point, I liked the possibility of earning extra credit points through the health center workshops. The workshops can be very helpful, besides a bump on your MGMT 405 grade!

What a nice lady! The instructor has a great sense of humor. She always told us stories that made her lectures very interesting. Her communication skills are excellent, and she was always eager to help and encouraged students who needed help to contact her via e-mail or in person. The textbook was not too much fun, but it was ok. She was definitely enthusiastic and reasonable. The bottom line is that the instructor loves her job and it shows.
